SEMO earned 16 first-place votes and a total 236 points. Jacksonville State, which picked up six first-place votes, is second with 221 points, while Eastern Kentucky earned the two remaining first-place nods and 195 points. Sophomore Anna Kaziska was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Week. Kaziska captured two event titles as Southeast registered a season-high team score of 191.450 this past Sunday at Ball State's Quad Meet. Kaziska won the beam title with her fourth personal-high score of 9.875 in the opening rotation. The Defending Ohio Valley Conference champion Redhawks softball team will have a unique opportunity to play Team USA in an exhibition game on Sunday, May 3. The 2020 USA Softball Women's National Team will play the Redhawks as its "Stand Beside Her" tour rolls through the United States in preparation for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Southeast Missouri Baseball will play a 56-game schedule with 32 contests at Capaha Field during its upcoming 2020 season. The Redhawks open the season on the road at Louisiana-Monroe on Friday, February 14. Opening Day at Capaha Field will be Friday, Feb. 21 against Northern Illinois. Other non-conference opponents to visit Capaha Field this spring include Ohio University and Ball State; regional rivals Arkansas State, Saint Louis University, and Southern Illinois; and SEC opponent Mizzou.

Southeast Missouri defensive tackle Josh Avery has accepted an invitation to play in the 2020 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. This year's NFLPA Collegiate Bowl is scheduled for Jan. 18, 2020 at Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California. Southeast Missouri seniors Zach Hall and Kristian Wilkerson were named to the HERO Sports All-America Teams. Hall earned first-team honors and Wilkerson was a second-team pick. After the completion of the fall sport championships, Southeast Missouri leads the 2019-20 Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner's Cup all-sport trophy standings; the Cup is a symbol of overall athletic excellence in Conference-sponsored championships. Southeast Missouri women's volleyball (23-10) will travel to Lexington, Kentucky, to face #9 Kentucky (23-6) in the First Round of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship.
