Under U.S. law, section 301 tariffs are to sunset after four years, unless the USTR receives a request from a domestic beneficiary of the tariffs. The four-year anniversary of List 1 tariffs was July 6, but no announcement was made that the tariffs would terminate, which can only mean that USTR believes it received the necessary request to continue with the additional tariffs.
