Emma came onto the TWW radar via another (forthcoming) guest, who told us about this 'funky, progressive hypnotherapist' she was working with. Ears were pricked immediately, a message was sent and Emma didn't disappoint.
Hypnotherapy, and indeed the type of hypnotherapy that Emma practices, is all about re-programming the brain to think better/healthier thoughts about ourselves, and we could all do with a bit of that, right?
Please meet Emma.

When we wrote our initial hit-list for TWW, Sally-Anne was near the top; because not only did we want to know how she'd started it all (and what's next), but we knew it would be an interesting topic for lots of women out there, whether they focus on fashion or not. Sally-Anne is out there creating content and she's really good at it, so we wanted to be able to share her story (and her tips) with you all.
Please meet Sally-Anne.

Molly is a very talented Kinesiologist, which may be a new word/term for a lot of you. In simple terms, Kinesiology is a holistic therapy which uses muscle response testing to measure the motor response of the central nervous system to a sensory challenge. By doing this, imbalances can be determined and methods to rebalance the body can be indicated. Now you know.
But Molly is a lot more than a Kinesiologist, as she explains in the chat.
Please meet Molly.

Tash is the founder, the driving force, and the all round beautiful soul behind The Loft; a yoga studio based out of the Rutland Nursery right on Rutland Water. It's an amazing location. Her classes are amazing. And Tash is amazing. It's all amazing.
Please meet Tash.

Caroline is a pro in all she does and her overall approach sets her apart. She's a great role model for anyone looking to start a career in the nail tech industry, hence why we made her... forced her (just kidding, she came willingly) to sit down with us.
Please meet Caroline.
** Oh and yes, Chops put her mic too far away from her on this one... Luckily it's Caroline you're actually listening to, and her mic was bob-on. We're still learning on the job, folks, but we're getting there **

Confident, brave and an all round OG 'just do it' attitude, Sophie is the real deal when it comes to bad-ass working women... Not least because she's also a crazy-talented Tattoo Artist and Artist... in case that wasn't obvious :-)
Please meet Sophie.
** Quick request to please bear with re the background noise here and there. Our room was right near a busy road (as the emergency services siren right at the end proves) and at present we don't have all-singing-and-dancing mics; but we will, oh yes we will... just give us time **
** Oh and can I also ask you to please bear with ME? I'm learning on the job with these pods and I'm not used to speaking/interviewing like this, so the nerves were (still are) rife. Who knew someone could speak so damn fast and then say say 'yeah-yeah' so damn much, completely unnecessarily...?! **

Meet Chops. Or Michelle, or Shelley, or Shells, or Mummy, or Auntie Shell, or Aunty Chops. She's the woman behind This Woman's Work and this is her (brief) story at the point of launching TWW back in October 2023.
Now October 2024, things have stepped up a level; but it's good to know what inspired it all to start.
Many thanks all.

A quick intro (from October 15th 2023) to explain what This Woman's Work is all about and what we're trying to achieve (with your help).
Things have changed somewhat, now that (October 15th 2024) we're TWWork, however, this is how and why it all started.
Many thanks all.

TWWork (formerly 'This Woman's Work') is a multi-faceted career resource and content library, that has interview-based podcasts at its core.
TWWork was set-up to tackle two fundamental…
Because fitting into the working world is hard
For lots of us, but especially for (our main/core audience of) women who have made sacrifices for their children/families and when they try to ‘come back’ to work, (too) often find they no longer fit into a career, or indeed a role they once held dear.
But fitting in is a problem that affects not just working mothers… It has never been harder to find, fit into and thrive in the right job, which is madness. But a madness that TWWork wants to help cure.
Because the recruitment system/industry globally is outdated
... and fundamentally restrictive, and it needs a massive shake-up!
Countless talent is going under-utilised, globally, either because it can’t be ‘easily’ or ‘conveniently’ found, or because recruiters only want to look for linear candidates that fit into predetermined boxes.
Or, because more and more AI and tech-based recruitment solutions think they can find the ‘right’ people via data and coding algorithms, which ignore everything special and unique about a person.
This is a human problem and we are going to ‘cure it’ in a human way.
