It's also no surprise that she's doing a role that she absolutely loves... She literally picks dogs up and takes them out to play, and she gets paid to do it... Come on, name us a better job?

Interestingly, we chat to Emma as she is beginning her 'what's next'; whereby she and her husband have sold up and bought a field that they can turn into the next phase of 'Oodles'. Exciting times are truly ahead for them both.

The foundations that make up Maya's business, Rhythm Nutrition, are to treat the cause, not the symptoms, of a health problem/concern.

Maya's husband, despite being in his mid 30s, suffered from chronic, debilitating fatigue. And had it been left much longer, he could have lost his career, and their home-life, with 2 young children, could have become very, very different.

So when they NHS couldn't solve it, they did; using all the skills and talents (and heritage) they had available to them. And they did it so well - Maya did it so well - that it spurned a business idea that is now growing and thriving global (yep, they ship worldwide... ish) business.

Charlie is a MASSIVELY solutions-focussed Midwife and (multi) Department Head, and does the job - and has progressed to the level she has - primarily to help the many, not just the few.

What NHS staff, like Charlie, accomplish day-in-day-out is phenomenal, given the tremendous lack of funding and support, and alongside ever growing patient needs and yes, patient expectations.

... And they don't do it for the money... Nobody would do a job like this for the money... They do it for the calling inside them, that asks them to help other humans. To heal and protect others.

Liz LOVES her job, so even though her sisters keep asking her when she's going to retire, her answer remains the same: 'I love my job!'. Floristry is Liz's hobby/passion and she's created a fab business doing something that she loves and something that she's really proud of.

Now that doesn't mean she wouldn't like to step back a bit and do some travelling, but retire... Never!

In this chat, Stella and Chops pick-up from Break Room 2 (with Nicky) and discuss what gender and gender equality means for Stella's generation. They also chat through what it's like as a working millennial / Gen Z right now, and how that generation view the workplace Vs their 'modern' needs.

The need for Stella's generation to enjoy their work, and indeed 'thrive' at work is clearly there - WAY more than it was for older generations at that age (who just sucked-it-up for the sake of their CV) - and yet, the modern workplace doesn't appear to have changed all that much to accommodate this need.

Stella has experienced, and has friends who are still experiencing sexism and misogyny at work, and who are pretty blimin' unhappy about it. BUT, they still don't feel they can speak up about it, let alone leave that employment, because of how that will might reflect on them and their CV.

Gemma's story, like many of the women we pod, is both that of an underdog and that of a non-linear fashion... Because Gemma wasn't necessarily hugely academic, and because she didn't intend to become a solicitor.

She certainly didn't intent to become an IP/Trademark one.

And yet she is now both; and she's amazing at both. So much so that she now runs her own small IP practice which works with some pretty big corporate players.

Marie Helen's journey with her own ADHD, and indeed her work in the field of ADHD, represents up a BIG and HOT topic of conversation for millions of people worldwide. The diagnosis of it (maybe even the mis-diagnosis of it), the treatment of it (do the drugs work or don't they?), and indeed the ongoing support for people who live with it (or rather the lack of support) are all big topics of conversation online and on social, so it's clearly a job/role that is in high demand.

Amy and Jo run a fantastically clean and friendly soft-play centre. And perhaps most important for mums, they served the BEST coffee and cake for miles around!

Setting this business up, and indeed running it, has not been easy, as they chat through honestly; not least the impact covid had on pretty much everything from that point on...?! And they knew nothing about running a business, or indeed a soft-play business before starting it, meaning they really did have to learn 'on the job' and the hard way. Which they did.
