Today we have a little show and tell of five horror classics in augmented reality editions ~ just in time for Halloween from Augmented Classics ~ you can see more at https://www.augmentedclassics.com

Oxford defines it best as "a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world, thus providing a composite view," and if you have read Virtual Light by William Gibson, it has a pretty good depiction of where this will go with smart glasses.

https://amzn.to/3G7DD4T - link to Virtual Light for sci-fi and cyberpunk fans

We talk about Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, and The Picture of Dorian Gray. Beautiful and terrifying stories, all.

While this is not a sponsored video, Augmented Classics did send two of the books along after I provided review snippets for each of the five horror classics, unrelated to the video, for the print run only. Very grateful to be included in this cool project so thank you!

Gavin Gardiner is an author from Glasgow, and he believes there is no greater terror than a truly unhinged human mind. Specialing in the psychological, he pushes the themes and subjects of his work into areas seldom explored in the genre. His debut horror For Rye is available now, with a follow-up novella The Last Testament of Crighton Smythe due for release this Halloween.

Last month I read a good handful of books for the readathon, but then slacked until October 1. The next month has a good mix of rural horror and urban darkness with maybe one more bonus book if I am lucky. Happy October!

Last week I posted on twitter my TBR for the Ladies of Horror Fiction Readathon as so many books I was reading right now fit. It's a nice, easy-going readathon as there are no prompts: just read some great female authors!

Watch The Bookubus' LOFH Readathon announcement and TBR video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHkvC53xpGU   I also get wondering why so few female authors query for reviews...
