The Following is a conversation with Dean Alioto.
Dean is another awesome guy in this space, someone whose work has shaped not only the UFO genre but also the entire found footage filmmaking style. Dean is an award-winning director, writer, and creator of the cult classic The McPherson Tapeâa film that was literally lost in a fire, only to resurface years later as supposed real alien encounter footage! He also directed Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County, a highly-rated Paramount TV movie that terrified audiences and blurred the lines between fiction and reality.
Beyond the UFO world, Dean has worked across multiple genres, from westerns to supernatural thrillers, and most recently, heâs spent seven years crafting documentaries on the UFO phenomenonâThe Alien Perspective has just been released and it is awesome (available on Amazon and Apple).
Weâll be diving into his experiences, the impact of found footage storytelling, working with abductees, the negative and positive aspects of the abduction side to UFOlogy, the UFO communityâs love-hate relationship with hoaxes, and where he thinks disclosure is headed.
This was such a fun and insightful conversation, and I canât wait for you all to hear it. So sit back, relax, and letâs get into it with Dean Alioto!
