Gisele does not like the afternoons so I guess we are changing it.

We eventual end up talking about Gisele's trip to Grandma's house.
Between her talks with Grandma and my talk with my mother...we were both challenged to think through our decisions and the risks we are talking.

What are the things that you will regret not doing?
What have you stopped doing in order to assure that you can do the things that you want to do?
You can do whatever you want in life, you just can't do everything you want.

Today's show was mostly about process. I started the year with the goal of trying to write comedy and do my first comedy show.
I have always been intimidated by most people's creative process whether sermons, talks or comedy sets.
The more I learn the more I realize that no one does it the same way.
Gisele shares what its taken her to become good at songwriting. All of the time, energy and effort to learn and practice. I think she was encouraging me!!

Gisele is not stabbing people with swords but she has been doing a lot of fencing.
She may be building her last fence through her construction business.
She discusses the benefits and drawbacks of working with family.
Are you part of a family owned and operated business or do you work with other family members in some capacity? Please share your experience with us.
This discussion leads in to what Gisele is learning about social media marketing and what is working for them currently.
Unfortunately, people do always go with the best choice but the option that is top of mind. Even if you have the best product or service, if people don't know you exist it will be nearly impossible for them to choose you, your product or your service.
We made a job about the people that run the media in our country get to be the puppet masters pulling the strings and telling society what to think about, what to choose, and what is important. So in a twisted but similar way you can help sway public opinion by advertising in a way that keeps you top of mind. Remind that all the marketing in the world won't help you if your product or service sucks!!
Oh and...
Andy bought a big ass van that he is going to use for business and camping. He is very excited about it!

I went out west on vacation. Not the best time to do a driving vacation but it was cheaper than a cruise!
Gisele worked! She makes sure to let me know that she did not go on vacation and just worked.

It's Ayla's (Gisele's horse) birthday today! Happy 17th!
Andy tells a story about an enlightening conversation he had with a cashier at the local drug store. The story alludes to things you use to be able to do that you can't really do any more.
Human's have two important and often opposing desires. One is the desire for security and the other a desire for adventure.
As we age and desires, interests and perhaps physical abilities change we have a tendency to gravitate toward security and away from adventure.
Gisele talks about how riding her horse has changed over the 17 years and now that both her and her horse are a bit older. We then use that as an analogy to think about our only person life and growth journeys.
What adventure is next on your list and why do you want to take it? Have you become to risk averse or are you still an adventurer?

Gisele explains her amazing weekend with her boyfriend.
They went on a ropes course at Holiday Valley in Ellicottville, NY.
After they struggled through the course they were able to discuss all the business analogies they had seen.
Andy shared that when he took students through ropes courses when he was a camp counselor they would teach about the three zones of personal challenge.
The green zone is too easy. The red zone is too difficult and overwhelming. The yellow zone is where you are challenged and probably a little scared but with the right encouragement and help one can push him/herself to over come the obstacle.
