The boys crash into the ground like a lightning bolt with today's classic review! The one and only, thrash metal-defining album, Metallica's 1984 effort, "Ride the Lightning"! The boys dive headfirst into thoughts on the album, discussing everything from its incredibly varied lyrical themes of nuclear apocalypse and biblical stories to dying horribly by way of electric chair execution and stories of depression and despair, as well as its production and how it's held up over the years (and ways that it hasn't...). Funny moments are not spared either, with possibly the Unboxing Life's funniest moment captured for your listening pleasure! Strap in for part 1 of our review of some of Metallica's most monumental albums!

With a man down, Cameron, Alex, and David bring you yet another marvelous variety episode! They begin by talking about the earthquake in Japan that delayed the latest Attack on Titan episode, which leads to discussion about people who spoil media on the Internet. They also talk about big movie titles such as Avengers, Avatar, the Lord of the Rings, and It as they reminisce on the movie-going experience. As they get into the Endgame (heh..), the trio converse about the Marvel Cinematic Universe and give their thoughts on what they are looking forward to seeing in future media of the franchise!

Like the concession stand at your local AMC movie theater packed to the brim with a smorgasbord of mouthwatering candies, the boys at Unboxing Life have what you need to fulfill your variety hour needs! They kick off the episode with talks of their favorite types of food (are you a spicy or sweet & sour kinda person?), which naturally leads into favorite movie theater box candy (shout out to Milk Duds & Sour Skittles!). Trev announces that he is becoming one half of OutKast by finally moving out of his parents' place this week, and he shares some cons to moving, like packing, overcharging for internet service, and moving things in and out of tiny places (PIVOT!). David & Trev discuss an ugly, redundant trend currently engrossing the music industry, as well as a super dope, innovative way to monetize & capitalize on digital art (NFTs, anyone?). They cap off the episode with some terrifying technologies that they'd never embrace, like Cyberpunk 2077 brain chips.

Grab your nearest pair of cowboy boots and a hat to match because the Unboxing Life boys are taking a headfirst dive into the world of country music! Well, alternative country... but same idea! The guys cover the Grammy-winning wonderfulness that is Sturgill Simpson's third album, "A Sailor's Guide to Earth". As with all of our musical reviews, the tracklist gets surgically dissected and the album's concept and themes are heavily discussed. Love is shown to the beautiful instrumentation, and lyrics are brought up almost as much as the guys' review of Run the Jewels 4! Will Cam shatter David and Trev's dreams of converting him into a Real Country Music Fan? Find out on this installment of Music Box!

The boys bring their best surprised Pikachu face impressions to this week's Variety Box installment! With Alex & Trev being avid Pokémon fans, they gush over the newly announced Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl games, faithful remakes of the 4th generation of Pokémon games. That conversation spills into stories about being obsessed with trading cards in both the Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! fandoms (who didn't want a Duel Disk to summon a Blue Eyes White Dragon?!). They discuss growing up on the cusp of the Internet explosion at the turn of the millennium and whether or not they belong to the Millennial or Zoomer generations. 9/11 and people being born after the tragedy is talked about briefly as well as TSA before and after and how some rules are written in blood. They finish up the episode with talks of ancient technologies they used growing up (looking at you, Sony CD player with the Spider-Man 2 official soundtrack inside) as well as mourning the modern tragedy that is Teen Titans Go! Will American cartoons ever catch up to the greatness of Japan's anime craze? Find out this time on the Unboxing Life Podcast!

The boys deep dive the track list, discussing and praising the album’s varied, deeply honest lyrical themes. They discuss references to the late Mac Miller (rest in paradise!) and Pete Davidson present throughout, as well as the controversies surrounding "7 Rings". Some critiques are offered in regards to certain songs, but the majority of this episode is surprisingly without any scathing hot takes from Cam, Alex or David. Y’all already knew how Trev felt about this one, come on.

If you are in need of a demonstration of how to tackle a variety episode for your podcast, the boys got you covered this week!
