The UCW Knot flawlessly executes a thematic episode despite each host using a different theme. Adam kicked it off with a classic Two Truths and a Lie segment about our favorite house-pet the Mongoose. Piers tried desperately to do a lightening round but was railroaded by three laughing hyenas. Jimmy educated the team on Australia rower extraordinaire Bobby Pierce and why Chariots of Fire should have been called Rowboat of Fire. Finally, new mother Katherine described her bathtub birth and how she was too late when she asked for drugs. Side note, the word "placenta" never came up in the episode. Enjoy!

The UCW Litter pulls no punches this week folks. Oh Nelly! Piers kicks the ep off by trying to convince the team to put worms on their morning porridge. Katherine's clinically disturbing obsession with British royalty continues as she discusses some of the strange gifts the Queen receives when she travels, many of which are large animals. Jimmy then discusses elephants, one of the coolest animals around. There is no mistaking his trunk envy. Adam closes it out attempting a new segment called "Pod Facts" which fails miserably, but hey, you can't get canceled just for sucking… Thanks for listening team!

The UCW Barrel is on fire this week folks! Piers reinvents the pod intro. Then, the titanically pregnant Katherine does her long-anticipated Hugh Jackman segment, the excitement almost forcing her into labor. Jimmy asks what's the difference between a jester and a joker and unsurprisingly manages to slip in a Heath Ledger reference. Adam brings back head-to-head celebrities pitting Boris Johnson against Madonna at mud wrestling and at some point Swedish children get involved. Piers enlightens the team on one of the original daredevils, Annie Edson Taylor, the first woman to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel on purpose. Oh boy! There should be a movie about Annie Edson Taylor and about this pod episode! What a ride! Oh baby!

The UCW Zeal continues a weekly tradition of impressing themselves. Adam launches the episode by pandering to our listener in Mozambique by talking about the country's love of roller hockey. Piers then panders to Jimmy, explaining how New Zealand is often left off of maps. Then, Katherine tells us the history of London's Harrod's going into extreme detail on some elements before skipping a century. Jimmy brings us home as only he can by discussing the first time someone shit on television (I mean said "shit" on television). Boom chug-a-luga! Enjoy folks!

#038 The Wizard of New Zealand
The UCW Convocation welcomes Piers back from Tuvalu with an incredible episode that is both informative and sexually arousing. We begin with Jimmy taking the reign to explain why the question is not why New Zealand has an official wizard, but why other countries do not. Then Adam takes over and points out Marvel superhero Wolverine's character flaw (he is ostensibly Canadian, but isn't very polite; Katherine thinks Wolverine's catch phrase sucks). Piers, with clear audio, takes us to the small island nation of Malta to discuss the filming of Gladiator. Katherine closes out the emotional rollercoaster with a discussion of Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir. John A. MacDonald! Wow! Could we do more in twenty minutes and forty seconds? I think not. Enjoy!

The UCW Drove fights through Piers' audio (is he still in Tuvalu?) to create another epic Podcast journey. These are no longer episodes folks, they're journeys! Right out of the gate Katherine executes a finely tuned Subprime Minister segment on Pakistan's own Imran Khan. Then Jimmy talks Leprechauns and laments that "they're always after me Lucky Charms." Adam describes a Canadian tradition of putting a preserved frost-bitten severed toe in a shot of whiskey. And Piers using his World War One era audio equipment more than makes up for it with a segment about Queen Elizabeth II that he gets bored of in the middle. Oh, what a journey!

The UCW Zeals don't hold back this week. Piers reporting from the field in Tuvalu (at least that's what his audio sounds like) gives an outstanding presentation on the world's second smallest country. Then Jimmy jumps right in with the first five minutes of his three-hour presentation on Agatha Christie. Katherine follows that up with a Sub Prime Minister segment hidden within a discussion of the King of Lesotho and things get spicy! Adam caps it off with some interesting laws from India, one of which is about teeth. Wowza!

The UCW Gam gets controversial this week in a Truth or Lie segment that reveals the inventor or the Hawaiian pizza. Then we double down on controversy during a discussion of some unique town names in Ghana. Reality sets in during the telling of a Canadian hockey legend's donut tragedy. And as always we close strong with the realization that there is always a larger lizard. It doesn't get more educational than this one! You not Ghana want to miss this ep Uncommonwealthers!

The UCW Ambush gets real this week, folks! Jimmy tells us how his Dad's new hardwood floors were attacked by a giant lizard. The team revisits Woke James Bond, casting Wayne Gretzky, Nelson Mandela, Margaret Thatcher, and Ben Johnson. How is Hollywood not making these movies? Piers has a story of the fossilized Cheddar Man, who predates cheese (go figure). Finally, Katherine complains about the Podcast's maternity leave policy and discusses the different maternity leave policies around the world. Listen to the end folks the Uncommontakes are wild!

The UCW Smack discusses how a breast implant saved a Canadian woman's life by deflecting a bullet, tackles how pond are different from lakes, dissects literary quotes that include a mongoose reference, and pontificates on the most popular brands in Australia, Canada, and the UK. The team is large and in charge in this episode.
