Today we have the honor of chatting with Michael Travis; author of the soon-to-be-published book "Celebrating Kansas Breweries"!  Michael is traveling the State of Kansas (5400 miles and counting) visiting every brewery.  His book aims to illustrate the culture and experience of visiting each one, from the people he encounters to the stories he hears.  Much more than a brewery travel guide, his book will be an exciting and entertaining experience unto itself.  Be sure to buy your copy when it's release late summer of 2022!

Today we have Brooke from Public at the Brickyard and Jen from the Monarch; two of Wichita's favorite locally owned, craft beer supporting restaurants!  We talk about their history, some no-so-friendly customer stories (spoiler: the customer isn't always right), have a Miller High Life toast to a special announcement and so much more.  These wonderful women may have invited themselves to the studio but we're so glad they did!

Hailing all the way from Hutchinson, America, Pippin from Sandhills Brewing joins Cody and Jeremy in the studio today!  We talk about Sandhills' history, how they decided to open a second location in Mission, KS, what a sand hill is (spoiler:  it involves sand), how sand hill plums make for a "pig flesh" colored beer, and lots of other riveting tidbits.  Cheers!

Today, all the way from the Twin Cities, we welcome Omar, Dave, Aaron and Nick from Surly Brewing Co to the pod!!  We discuss Surly's beginnings with Omar's home brewing passion and nonsensical alcohol laws (spoiler: they exist in MN as well as KS).  We sip our way through some Furious IPA while examining the many merits of Darkness.  But most importantly we celebrate the launch of a great brewery in Kansas!

Our friends-ish from Manhattan Brewing made the trip to Wichita to talk some shit in the pod studio!  We discuss Jake's failed attempt at starting a brewery in Wichita, his burning desire to get a tramp stamp tattoo, Garrett getting turned down for a job by 2599 breweries, simulation theory and implanted tracking chips from the COVID vaccine, and so much more.  Eventually the party gets crashed by the CSB boys.  Enjoy!
