In Exodus 24, we see a picture of the first public worship service in the Bible, which reveals a great deal to us about how we should worship when we gather for a public service on the Lord’s Day.

We WORSHIP BIBLICALLY when we approach God on His terms alone.

Dr. Sean Cole concludes the sermon series through the book of Isaiah. Here is the main point or big idea of Isaiah 66: God’s people should hope for heaven, while God’s enemies should fear hell.

 The final chapter of Isaiah presents us with a stark contrast between God’s people and God’s enemies. Between the new heavens and the new earth, and eternal conscious torment in hell.

Dr. Sean Cole provides a critical review of Dr. David Allen's new book Liberating Romans from Reformed Captivity. 

Sean's primary critique is that Dr. Allen makes sweeping assertions and claims, but does not back them up with sound exegetical reasoning from the text. Instead, Allen quotes from other non-Calvinists who agree with his conclusions. Dr. Cole specifically addresses Allen's treatment of the verb "foreknew" (proginosko) in Romans 8:29-30. He demonstrates how Allen's strong bias against Calvinism has hindered his ability to examine the linguistic and exegetical issues in this text critically.

God’s people should pray desperately and fervently for revival!

This chapter is nicely divided into THREE parts or sections of this heartfelt prayer.

First, we see a desperate plea for God’s POWER (vs. 1-5)

Second, we see a deep confession of sin’s POLLUTION (vs. 6-7)

Third, we see a dependent submission to the sovereign POTTER. (vs. 8-12)

Would you commit to pray for revival? Would you commit to asking God to do more than you can imagine? Would you commit to wait upon the Lord in joyful obedience, hoping He will come down in power and transform our community, our state, and even our nation?

Isaiah 59:19-21 teaches that the global glory of salvation in Christ alone will spread successfully by His Word and Spirit.

It may appear that the gospel of Christ is losing ground, or that we are being pushed to the sidelines, or that wickedness is prevailing, or that millions living in unreached nations are not hearing the gospel. Isaiah 59 gives us the hope that God’s glory in saving sinners through Christ alone will be successful. His glory will fill the earth.

And we can count on the success of God’s global glory spreading, because He promises to do this through the continual presence of His powerful Word and Holy Spirit.

In Isaiah 59:1-18, we see that God, as a mighty Warrior, will save His people and judge His enemies.

In Isaiah 53:10-12, we see THREE glorious truths that should warm our hearts as we think about the glories of Calvary.

First, Jesus accomplished the will of the Father as our Sin-Bearer.

Second, God counts us righteous by faith alone.

Third, Jesus won the victory in His death, burial, and resurrection.

We should look at the cross and be horror-stricken that Jesus died in our place instead of us dying there for our own sins.

Without His perfect life, obedient death, glorious resurrection, and being seated at the right hand of God interceding for us in heaven, we could never have a right relationship with a holy God.

Only through Jesus can we have eternal life, joy, and peace with our God.
