We trekked to Talnua Distillery to talk whiskey and Irish American history with co-owners and co-founders Meagan and Patrick Miller. In addition to tasting the offerings, Patrick gave us one hell of a lesson on spirit-making in Ireland, Scotland, and the United States plus some history of how things all came together to make Talnua a possibility.

We've returned to the hard stuff for this episode and sit down with Rick Talley and Owen Locke, co-founders of Locke + Co. Distilling. We cover a lot of ground and went into depth on the unique qualities of their aspen-aged rye whiskey, which is amazing.

This little side project of ours finally got us to WeldWerks Brewing a.k.a. the craft beer drinker's Valhalla. We sat down with co-owner Colin Jones, Director of Operations Kristin Popcheff, and lead brewer Dereck Gold, three of the masterminds behind the magic that is Weldwerks. We drank some beer and talked about the organic brand growth and awareness they've experienced since opening. 

Sam and Jay reunite this week and make the trek to Arvada, Colorado, home to Resolute Brewing Company's new barrel- and tap-room. They talk marketing and strategic planning with Sam Layle, Resolute's marketing mastermind. 

In order to find a tax write-off, Sam went to Auckland, New Zealand to talk beer with Hopscotch Beer Company's Hugh Grierson. A lot about craft beer and Kiwi slang was learned. 

Sam went to Australia (seriously) to meet up with Mike Clarke, founder of Sydney's Sauce Brewing Company. 

It's a great interview with a ton of insight into the industry in Australia including its history, the politics involved, and what things are looking like for the future.
