The victim mentality is a powerful tool satan uses to try and make us forget our true identity in Christ. Many psychologists agree that the victim mentality is a learned mental state but if it’s learned that means it can be unlearned. 
God is not blind to our problems nor is He numb to the emotions that accompany those problems.Just like Jesus asked the crippled man if he wanted to be healed, we too must decide whether or not we really want the help God provides and be mature enough to accept the responsibility and the accountability that comes with it.

Psalm 141:3 says, "Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips.”

God spoke the universe and everything in it into existence. Words have the power to bless and to curse, to bring life and death. The words we speak to others, even about ourselves can also bring blessings and curses. So it’s no surprise Jesus warned His disciples they will be held accountable for every idle word spoken.

Typically, we don’t have emotions about something unless we have a thought about it first.  We are bombarded by thoughts positive and negative every waking hour. If our thoughts are out of control, so will our emotions be out of control.  2 Corinthians 10:5 can save a lot of heartache if we just do what it says.

The first portion of this episode is follow up from last night’s episode regarding Toxicity in thhe Church. It is important to remember that the whole salavation message is about reconciliation to God through Jesus. Those who have been forgiven much understand the need for forgiveness in others. Our relationships with others is a good indicator of our relationship with Christ.

Imagine if your church got a memo from Jesus saying He was there a week ago, two weeks ago, a month, maybe a year, and He closed with the saying He would be back at another unspecified time what do you think the meat of that memo would say? Would our Lord be met with excitement and reverence, or more panic and excuses than a hooker going to jail? Now that I have your attention, take a listen.

Strange concept but we do it more often than we think and this is dangerous territory for anyone especially believers.  God is the same yesterday today and forever but today is where we live therefore we need to accept that God is just as much in the present as He is the past and the future therefore miracles should be the norm, not the exception. Don’t repackage what God has already done.

Is it ok for a Christian to drink? What does the Bible say about going to a casino? These are two of many questions that are asked by both Christians and non Christians. While we all have strong opinions and valid reasons for those opinions.  However,  we all know the greatest enemy of opinion is fact.  Before I dig myself into a deeper hole, give this a listen and by the end you’ll  either grab a shovel, or….a bag of dirt.

Mark 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; please help my unbelief!”

Faith and unbelief can coexist as we see from this scripture. However, we cannot stay in this place and expect to grow in the Lord and see Him at work in our lives. We can take a lesson from this dad who was desperate to see his son healed, but lacked the belief Jesus could do it but instead of hiding the problem, the dad admitted it.
