Recently, there has been a great deal of discussion that beliefs and movements which do not recognize a Higher Power, such as atheism and secular humanism, are a fine substitute for a relationship with God. But are they really? Consider the electricity which comes into our homes to connect with our appliances, computers and televisions. When we plug into that source of power, our existence is enhanced in so many ways; alternatively, without that flow of energy, we find ourselves in a very different, much more challenging world. “Why God?” Please join us as we answer this question by examining these “create on your own” approaches and dispelling any ideas that these avenues could ever guide us to our “highest and best good.”
