Hello awesome potatoes! 

Sometimes I get asked "how do I become more confident" or "how do I learn to listen and trust my gut?"

I wanted to talk about this topic this week because I truly believe that we slowly lose our confidence and the ability to listen to our gut as we grow up. I think we are born with confidence and the ability to listen to our gut feelings, but I think throughout our life we slowly and gradually forget and then just come to accept that we "don't have confidence".

We also go through lots of things in life that might cause us to lose trust in our own judgement, but I believe it is important to remember that trust and confidence can be rebuilt within ourselves.

Hello wonderful tater tots!

In 2021, I left my very stable, promising career path after over 6 years of school and training because it wasn't good for my mental health. It was the best decision I ever made but it was also one of the hardest ones I have made to date.

I realized that I might not be alone in this and wanted to share my thought processes, fears, and feelings when I contemplated my departure in hopes that you will find it helpful for your own thought process! All I want is for people to feel a little less alone and know that the thoughts, problems, and life events we go through are things everyone goes through too! We just might have a bit of a different process getting through it.

I personally find it really helpful to hear others' experiences, so I thought I'd share mine.

I think so often we forget about ourselves and all our focus goes to those around us - friends, family, partners, etc. But it's SO important to recognize and acknowledge our own needs, wants and desires and do what we can do make them happen! If some of those things involve another person, it's important and can be very helpful to practice how to clearly communicate those needs, wants and/or desires to the other party!

I decided to release this episode a couple days earlier because I wanted it to be available in time for Christmas! (it's a quick episode, so have a listen while you're getting ready!) 

Like I said in last week's episode, the holidays have a lot of pressure to be a joyous and happy time for everyone, but a lot of the time that is not the case. Just remember, that your feelings are 100% valid and you are not alone! 

In today's episode I discuss setting boundaries and the importance of checking in with yourself to figure out those boundaries, because sometimes we even need to set boundaries with ourselves. Although it can be difficult to have those conversations, I offer a few tips and ideas of examples you could use if you find yourself in a situation where you have to set a boundary with someone.
