  • Unsigned518 Podcast #23, Caitlin Barker of Candy Ambulance

Candy Ambulance has been at the top of my list of favorite 518 bands for a while, so it was cool to be able to sit down with Caitlin in her Troy apartment and talk about everything and anything. Seriously, we hit so many subjects and topics that it is futile to even attempt to give a summary here. You'll just have to listen to this extremely insightful and interesting conversation with Candy Ambulance's Catlin Barker. Hopefully, you have as much fun listening to it as I had recording it.

  • Unsigned518 Podcast #20, JB!! aka Dirty Moses

When you think of 518 Hip-Hop, one of the first names that comes to mind is JB!!, so I was honored that he made the trek out to Schuylerville to sit down and talk with me at the Unsigned518 headquarters.

We discussed not only his start in making music, but we also go over the incredible list of "firsts" that he has claimed in the 518. One of them being the first Hip-Hop artist to ever play Alive at Five. JB!! will be back at Alive at Five tonight (7/7) to kick off the night as Talib Kwali takes the stage.

JB!! also premieres his upcoming single "Prosecco" on this episode (featuring Dali of Victory Soul Orchestra and Run Rabbit Run), which is not yet available anywhere but here. So, check out my conversation with 518 royalty JB!! aka Dirty Moses, hear his latest single and go see him TONIGHT (7/7) at Alive at Five.

  • Unsigned518 Podcast #19, DJ Hollyw8d

Unsigned518's Andy Scullin talked with DJ Hollyw8d about his beginnings in hip-hop, his moving to the 518, and when he really started to take the DJ game seriously. We also talk about his amazing project "More Music, Less Violence" and what it is doing to keep positivity in music and violence out.

DJ Hollyw8d does a ton for the community and his energy is seemingly tireless. So, listen to the most motivated man in the 518 and me as we talk about all things hip-hop, the 518, and what DJ Hollyw8d brings to the table (which is a lot).

We also play a few tracks that are selected by DJ Hollyw8d.

Unsigned518 host, Andy Scullin sat down with Aliwild at Tanpopo Ramen and Sake Bar in Albany to discuss his music, how he got his start and what is on his horizon, as well as many other topics. This was a very cool episode to record, as it is the first one I have ever recorded in a crowded restaurant. It came out great and the conversation is definitely worth listening to.

  • Unsigned518 Podcast #17, Carl Blackwood of Bendt/Run Rabbit Run

Unsigned518's Andy Scullin sat down with Carl Blackwood of Bendt and Run Rabbit Run to discuss both projects.

We go into how members of both Bendt and Run Rabbit Run came to know each other. It is very interesting, as a few of the members crossed paths with Carl at very early ages in one way or the other, but didn't actually become acquainted until much later.

    We talk about my introduction to Run Rabbit Run, which was their live-stream of Dark Side Of The Moon (as well as a curated collection of other Pink Floyd tunes) in its entirety from Jive Hive Live. {You can view the entire performance from Jive Hive Live in the link below.}

We also discussed how Run Rabbit Run is taking their show to the WAMC Performing Arts Studio: The Linda for a quadraphonic sound experience, complete with a visual accompaniment by Mikey Baish.

We also discuss the upcoming album from Bendt that is currently in the works and is slated to be released before the end of 2022.

I had such a great time hanging out with Carl and getting to know him and while we go off topic several times, I think you'll have a great time getting to know him as well.

  • Unsigned518 #16, Man Must Explore

I sat down with Ryan and Ross from MME and we talked about their start in making music, the various changes the band has gone through, as well as what is to come in the near future. This is actually the second time sitting down with them. The first time, somehow, the file had no audio when I downloaded it. Not sure how, but regardless, the guys were happy to come back and talk with me.

We also spend a bit of time talking about how similar the paths are between MME and my band, SWRB. We started at about the same time, we both started as a duo without a drummer, we both have the same amount of music available on Spotify and we both are currently working on releasing an album.

Man Must Explore are great. I suggest checking them out when they play live sometime and listening to their tunes on Spotify. After you listen to them here, of course.
