Everybody experiences suffering of some kind on a regular basis. The vocation of caring for the sick in a medical profession is based on the desire to help alleviate suffering in others. In this episode Drs. Tom, Chris, and Andrew reflect on insights they have gained from over 200 guests and their own experiences about how to successfully use and transform our suffering.
Plus, you will receive an invitation to view the Catholic Medical Association’s breakout session at SEEK22 where you can learn the secret of turning your suffering into joy. You don’t have to be training in a health care field to watch.
Doctor, Doctor informs and evangelizes listeners through joy-filled and engaging expert interviews that cover all things health care and medicine from an authentically Catholic perspective while staying faithful to the best scientific evidence.

St. Alberto Hurtado was an unusually gifted man. Like all Jesuits, he followed a lengthy period of intellectual and spiritual formation, and also studied for a European doctorate in education. He involved himself in issues of social policy, trades unions and poverty. He took a keen interest in the life of the Church and wrote articles challenging the bourgeois assumptions of fellow Catholics. He founded a journal, Mensaje, which is still published today. He gave retreats and spiritual direction that changed the lives of countless people. Most enduringly, he worked tirelessly for the poor and marginalized, setting up a charity called Hogar de Cristo, an enterprise which is still a going concern today. How can the teachings of this incredible Saint challenge all of us in our continued pursuit of holiness? Tune in and find out!
