Police continue with the search of missing six-year-old, Joslin Smith from Saldanah Bay in the Western Cape. Joslin has been missing since February 19 and the Grade 1 Diazville Primary School learner was last seen wearing a light blue T-shirt and light blue denim shorts. She has a birthmark on her right arm. Police say various people had been interviewed in an effort to trace the child, but thus far without success. President of the Pan Africanist Congress of Azania, Mzwanele Nyhontso says his party will decolonise the judicial system and make it relevant and applicable to the African conditions. He was speaking at his party's 2024 Elecltion Manifesto launch in Soweto on Saturday.  Nyhontso says the legal and judicial system must reflect African culture, moral values and punishment methods. Thousands of party members, representatives of fraternal parties including Azapo and the ATM and its former President Letalapa Mphahlele, attended the launch. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) Board and Executive Management led by the Acting Chairperson, Professor Lourens Van Staden has briefed members of the media in relation to progress for student funding for the 2024 academic year. This includes feedback on payment of student allowances, and the student accommodation pilot project for the 2024 academic year. Professor Lourens Van Staden highlights some of the key points.

The National Consumer Commission has called on all peanut butter manufacturers to start testing their products. Earlier this month, various stores had to recall their peanut butter product from their stores, because of elevated levels of aflatoxin which may cause harm to humans. It appears that many others may be affected. Today we would like to understand what "aflatoxin" is and how it affects us if we consume it. The Department of Public Enterprises says it will not allow anyone to tarnish its work and falsely imply there's any attempt by the department not to be transparent about any issue involving public trust. The Auditor General raised concern with the Public Enterprises Committee that she had not received the report on the revised valuation of SAA's assets. There have been reports of tensions between Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan and Parliament's Public Enterprises Portfolio Committee over the SAA - Takatso deal. SABC News has been inundated with complaints from listeners over delays in the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) payments, over a month into the 2023 academic year. This, as students at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) in KwaZulu-Natal have been protesting, citing concerns over registered students who have not been allocated accommodation as they have not having received their NSFAS allowances. Students at the East Cape Midlands College in Makhanda have also been protesting over NSFAS' decision to pay 90% of their accommodation allowance to their landlords, rather than directly into their own accounts. Transnet has two new Senior Executives. Public enterprises minister Pravin Gordhan has appointed Michelle Phillips as Transnet's new Group CEO and Nosipho Maphumulo as the chief financial officer (CFO).  According to Minister Gordhan, these are critical appointments which represent Transnet's steadfast commitment to equip the entity with an experienced executives leadership team to drive the strategic interventions that the board has put in place as part of the Transnet recovery plan. The Durban magistrate's court has postponed the case of five of the suspects linked to the murder of rapper Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and his friend,  Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane to the sixth of March. The five men are facing ten counts - which includes the two charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder and unlawful possession of firearms. The five are Lindokuhle Mkhwanazi, Lindani Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza , Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabini and Lindokuhle Ndimande. Kiernan's father, Tony Forbes spoke to members of the media on the sidelines of the court appearance by the accused, where he said the family is still struggling to come to terms with AKA's death.
