Non-governmental organisation, Corruption Watch says reports of education-related corruption represented 10% of the total  number of reports the organisation received between the years, 2012 and 2021. In a report titled Sound the Alarm, the organisation says it found widespread allegations of corruption in the sector including 3 417 reports at primary and secondary school level, 183 at SETA level and 67 at technical, vocational, education and training colleges. The health MEC in Limpopo Dr Phophi Ramathuba has defended her comments on the strain her department is under when having to service both locals and immigrants at the province's health facilities. Dr Ramapthuba made the comments in a video which has since gone viral across social media platforms.  In the video, she is heard telling the patient her country must take responsibility for her health issues, adding that Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa does not contribute to Limpopo's health budget. South Africa's official unemployment rate has declined to 33.9% in the second quarter of 2022. This is 0.6 percentage points lower than the 34.5% rate in the previous quarter. Data from statistics South Africa has surprised market expectations showing a decrease in the second quarter of 2022. The new survey showed that the economy added 648- thousand jobs between the two quarters.  The market has expected unemployment to increase to 35 percent. Eastern Cape health officials have condemned an attack on female nurses and staff at the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital at the weekend.  This after staff at the facility were left traumatised following an attack by three men on Sunday. Its alleged three men had brought in a friend who was shot and demanded that the nurses fetch him from their car. One of the nurses was assaulted as the suspects. Threatened that if their friend dies, they would come back to kill everyone at the trauma unit. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to health department spokesperson Yonela Dekeda...

King Misuzulu ka-Zwelithini will tomorrow be performing the ritual called Ukungena Esibayeni, loosely translated as Entering the Kraal. The family says this is a significant step towards the coronation where the King is introduced to the ancestors as he prepares to ascend the throne. The ritual will take place at KwaKhangelamankengana palace in KwaNomngoma in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Another fight between groups of learners has caused havoc at Ngwenze Senior Secondary School in Dutywa in the Eastern Cape .The Learners who are from Xawuka location and Bolotwa Administrative Area are fighting with learners from Silityiwa location. The schools' principal Lihle Mzimba says some learners from Silityiwa are not attending school because they are afraid. He says they are using dangerous weapons and stones during the fights. The bail application of two men accused of the murder of Hillary Gardee has been postponed to the 2nd of September. This comes as police in Mpumalanga have said that they are confident that they will provide the NPA with an expert statement linking the fifth suspect  to the murder case. The suspect was arrested on Tuesday but was later released. The National Prosecuting Authority has provisionally withdrawn the case against the suspect.  Police Spokesperson Selvy Mohlala says the suspect used the deceased's laptop after she was murdered.  Mohlala says the suspect will be subpoenaed once police have submitted the expert statement. A section of Parliament's entrance which was cordoned off has been reopened following a parcel that was dropped of by a person just outside 90 Plein Building. A fifth suspect in the murder case of Hilary Gardee is expected to make his court appearance today at the Nelspruit Magistrate's court in Mpumalanga. The suspect, a Nigerian national was taken in for questioning on Sunday and placed under arrest Yesterday. here continues to be mixed reaction to the decision to ban all movement of cattles in the country in order to contain the outbreak of food and mouth disease. Agriculture Minister Thoko Didiza suspended the movement of cattle from one property to another for 21-days. However there are exceptions for cattle meant for direct slaughter at registered abattoirs and slaughter for ritual purposes.
