  • Putting Our Admiration and Trust in the Right Place

A few days ago I was walking with my wife the Windsor Palace in England. Beautiful place, beautiful land and architecture... so much luxury. As I walked the palace, however, I did not felt admiration or even joy, I actually felt sad thinking about all the people that trusted a dynasty to take care of them, hence, leaving themselves open to disappointment. Humans are prone to corruption and is in our nature to be selfish. Combine this with power and money, and a dangerous reaction can occur.

Are putting or trust and admiration in the wrong people? Do artists, celebrities, actors, politicians, even "influencers" be our center of admiration? No. People disappoint. Let's put our trust in He who can never be corrupted and is the source of the most important thing in the universe...love.

  • The "Change Prior to Coming" Myth

Us humans have this culturally embedded tradition of proving ourselves prior to asking for something. We get good grades before asking parents for gifts, we go above and beyond and work prior to asking for a promotion, we treat our spouses the best we can prior to requesting something... and so on. It's such a natural behavior that it is almost impossible not to feel the same need for proving ourselves prior to coming to God. The question becomes, do I need to change prior to coming to Jesus?

Let's talk about life, bible, and the beautifulness that it is to come to God. You are being called right now... do you accept?

  • Fighting Depression, Anxiety and Loneliness

Depression, anxiety and loneliness seem to be on the rise. Children and teens are committing suicide, are getting depressed at alarming rates and we can't but wonder, what's going on? In a world that seems to be so connected through media channels and internet, we seem to be more disconnected than ever. Self-help books are making headlines and becoming best sellers but... can I truly "self-help" myself? Am I to answer my own problems?

Let's take a look at what the Bible has to say and the role that God plays when it comes to our mental state. I strongly believe that God is the true answer and solution to all of our problems but, let's leave the Bible (God's word) speak for itself.

  • Reacting to Anger (WWJD?)

Getting angry is just part of our daily life menu; feeling the emotion is not the problem, how we react to it is. WWJD (What Would Jesus Do?) is the question that we all must ask ourselves before reacting anger situations. Our nature is a sinful one and the desire to repay evil with evil and/or to be vengeful is just innate to us, but are we as christians to abide by those impulses? What does the Bible say about this topic?

In this episode we evaluate what the Bible has to say about experiencing and reacting to human anger, and yes, I also share a bit about my personal experience.

  • The Problem with Pushing God Away

Historical facts and events come to show that there is an evident, clear correlation between pushing out or simply rejecting God, and moral decay amongst humans and even civilizations. The world has been changing, for the worst, ever since the apparent victory of the French Revolution in the late 1700s. In parallel with the political reasons, the revolution was highly fueled by a desire to expel religion and church influence over every aspect in life... we called this the "Age of Enlightenment". Expelling religion and God along with it, was considered an enlightenment and well... we're not doing so well nowadays in terms of society as a whole, are we?

Let's talk about the current status of our society, what we see around us, and the evident and immensely huge problem tied to casting God out.

  • Understanding and Finding Happiness

Being 'happy' and living in 'happiness' are not one in the same. In fact, we (people) often confuse prolonged happy moments with having happiness. The question is, how can we find lasting, permanent happiness? In a world where everything is bound to one day decay, vanish, die or disappear... can we find happiness? I believe the Bible has the answers we are looking for.

In this episode we discuss the differences between being happy and living in happiness under the light and guidance of science and the Bible. What do studies show? What does the Bible says?

  • Finding Purpose and Meaning in Life

Being successful by today's society standards is not synonymous with having a purpose in life, it does not even correlate with us feeling accomplished, happy and fulfilled. Why is that? Bertrand Russell, a British mathematician, philosopher and atheist stated: "Unless you assume a God, the question of life's purpose is meaningless"... did he had a point here?

In this episode I share some of my story and we evaluate the fundamental problem with "self-help" books and what the Bible has to say about us living our lives. Let me give you a hint of why "self-help" books cannot really help us finding meaning and purpose in life: the reason is in the category itself... "SELF-help". Can we do anything by ourselves to help us?
