    Minnesota State improves to 10-1-0 with a WCHA sweep of Ferris State;

  • Ep. 5: Arizona State splits with Penn State, Gaudet and Jackson hit milestones
    Hosts Jim Connelly and Ed Trefzger review the games of the weekend and the news of the week, including:

    Arizona State, at 7-3-0 and with 11 goals on the season for Johnny Walker, splits the weekend with an overtime win over No. 6 Penn State Saturday.

    Dartmouth’s 5-1 win over Quinnipiac -- and Penn State's loss -- means no perfect records left in D-I men's hockey. That win was the 400th for Bob Gaudet.

    Denver swept Western Michigan leaving the Pioneers as the only unbeaten team (5-0-1).

    Jeff Jackson earned his 300th win at Notre Dame in his 14th season with 2-1 win over Ohio State on Saturday.

    Minnesota State stayed red hot with a sweep of Minnesota.

    North Dakota swept Wisconsin, winning four in a row after 0-2-1 start.

    Holy Cross believed to have its largest crowd in Hart Center history (2,502) for 3-0 loss vs. Providence

    UMass and Providence continue to roll, will meet up Thursday and Saturday.

    And UConn announced funding for a new arena, will be only 2,500-3,500 seats, but supposedly have waiver from Hockey East. They'll continue to play some/all men’s games at XL Center in Hartford.

  • Ep. 4: Minnesota Duluth sweeps No. 1 Notre Dame, North Dakota wins in front of boisterous support, Penn State and Quinnipiac are 5-0
    Hosts Jim Connelly and Ed Trefzger look back on the weekend that was, including No. 3 Minnesota Duluth's sweep of No. 1 Notre Dame on the road and a very successful U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame game in Las Vegas -- at least for the fans and the atmosphere, but with some facility issues -- as North Dakota downed Minnesota in front of a crowd dominated by Fighting Hawks fans. We discuss the possibility of getting a hometown program in Vegas.

    Also in this episode:

    Union and Cornell were both swept by unranked opponents;

    Arizona State is 6-2-0 on the season after sweeping Omaha at home;

    Penn State and Quinnipiac both improve to 5-0-0;

    Alabama-Huntsville is now 0-8-0 after giving up a third-period lead on Saturday;

    Michael Souza picks up first win as a head coach with New Hampshire’s 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Vermont in home opener;

    Army won seven of eight points in two weekend Atlantic Hockey road trips;

    And ... Boston College's and Boston University's woes continue, sinking Hockey East's out-of-conference record.

  • Ep. 3: UMass splits with No. 1 Ohio State; Union, Notre Dame sweep; BC and BU both 0-3; 5v5 and 3v3 OT discussed
    UMass -- or should we say #NewMass -- split on the weekend with No. 1 Ohio State, while No. 2 Notre Dame swept Omaha and No. 20 Union did the same to No. 12 Northeastern. Boston College and Boston University are both 0-3 for the first time since the end of prohibition. We also look at RIT's annual Brick City Homecoming game, and several weekend splits. Plus a discussion of the merits of 5-on-5 and 3-on-3 overtimes and how the PairWise Rankings can reflect overtime.

  • Ep. 2: Ice Breaker, BC and BU swept, Minnesota Duluth in the win column, and why Pairwise is premature
    We review the top results of the weekend: Notre Dame won the Ice Breaker after a dramatic semifinal and shutout of Providence. Wisconsin swept Boston College while Minnesota State did the same to Boston University, Minnesota Duluth gets in the win column with a pair of victories at Michigan Tech. North Dakota scores just twice in a tie and loss at Bemidji State. Ohio State survives first-ever week at No. 1 with a pair of road wins at Arizona State.

    Plus: Union's Cole Maier has seven points in three games, and why you shouldn't pay attention to the Pairwise Rankings this early -- but why you should take notice of one of its components.
