- Rest in Peace JDF
Just a short while ago Jason David Franks - aka the Green Ranger - passed away due to suicide. This put Paul down a nostalgic path as he had watched Power Rangers when he was a kid - although to be fair what kid in the early 90's didn't? While he remembers Jason as the Green ranger - he also played many other important roles in the franchise over the year. Outside of his roles in the Power Rangers series JDF also was a mixed martial artist, Karate School owner, clothing line owner, and self professed devout Christian. While we started on this conversation it quickly turned into a deeper conversation with Paul and Aaron talking about what to do when you ask how someone is doing and they actually give you the true answer - not just the polite answer.

55 min - The Church, Hurt, And What We Can Do About That
This week we talk about the church and the hurt that it has inflicted on people - both intentionally and unintentionally. The church has done a lot of good things for the world - but like any institution - there are some black eyes that it has delt out - both internally and externally and it would be disingenuous to ignore this. While this seem all negative - there are some good things that can be learnt out of this.

1 hr 31 min - Understanding The History Of Halloween
This week we continue our discussion on why it is important to understand history/origination of things - and we target on Halloween. We use some information from the History Channel to go over how Halloween started, and why Christians have been against it in the past - but did you know that the Catholic church is partially to blame for Halloween and how it currently is? Including dressing up as demons?

48 min - Why Is It Important To Have A Broad Understanding Of The World
This week is the first episode in a multitude of episodes. Aaron wanted to know why it is important to be educated and understand the current culture/information/events going on in the world. He likens this to finally understanding a movie when he finally pays attention to the movies and gets to watch the full thing and sees the events at the start of the movie that are referenced at the end of the movie. But what happens when it isn't a movie - and instead it is our world and life that we have to pay attention to and understand what is going on. Examples of this include the Urkraine/Russian conflict, The covid-19 "fun", 5g and anti-vaxers.

1 hr 6 min - Revisiting Our Conversation On Swearing
This week Paul and Aaron revisit a conversation that they had at the very start of the Podcast all the way back in episode 3 ( https://www.useyourwords.cc/a-talk-about-swearing/ ) when they originally talked about language/swearing/cussing. This revisiting of this conversation was prompted when Paul challenged Aaron about his language that he heard while Aaron was attempting to open dog waste bags while watching Josh's and enforcer's dogs. While Paul and Aaron may not fully agree on all aspects of language - we can and do agree on one thing - that our language is a part of our witness to those around us.
