This week we go over chapters 3 and 4 of Packer's Knowing God. This continues to lay the foundation for the rest of the book. During this time we talk about Packer's insistence that anything that uses the imagination or art in worship is idolatry - and how he cedes some ground on this in the 1993 update to the book. What is your thought - is the use of art/images/statues during worship idolatry or is he taking it too far in that regards?

This week Paul and Aaron are talking about a case in Georgia which has been covered in some news outlets, but has mostly been left unreported for one reason or another. This case involves the abuse of children - and as such is not something that everyone should listen to or read up on.
We are talking about the Zulock case from Georgia where two married men (allegedly - have to say allegedly for legal reasons since they have not been convicted yet) sexually abused their adopted sons and pimped them out over the course of five years before the two men were arrested. It was because of the fact that they made CSAM of their kids that law enforcement was tipped off about a receiver of the CSAM material and was able to arrest the two men. This is disgusting behavior that needs to stop and stuff like this sometimes blackpills Paul into not thinking that things can get better.

This week we start going over the book Knowing God by J. I. Packer. While we mostly stick to the topics covered on the book, we do allow the conversation to ebb and flow where the topics take us.
Knowing God is considered by many to be a classic and is often on the top ten list of books that all Christians should read. Will we agree that that is the case? Are there things to take into consideration? Who is J I Packer? Did any controversy surround him? What does he have to say on the topic of Knowing God - and what is the difference of knowing about and knowing someone?

If you are at all involved in the conservative media space, you have probably at least heard of the fight going on between Steven Crowder and The Daily Wire. Both of these are giants in the conservative space - and both have done some great things for the conservative media in general even if the current fight seems to be ugly at times. In this episode we go over some of the comments made by both sides, and talk about whom we each personally align with in this dispute between the future of what conservative media may look like in the future. While each of us land on a particular side - we do agree that in the end both sides have done some great things and if you have a subscription to each of them - you should probably keep it - except don't listen to Matt Walsh - he doesn't like dogs because he doesn't understand them.

This week Paul and Aaron play around with ChatGPT to see how good it really is. After using the program for a while, we were able to create original poems, songs, stories and riddles. This puts ChatGPT in multiple categories at once: a useful tool to learn new things, a threat to people that act as knowledge workers, as well as a potential new method for students to cheat on tests and papers.
Like all things - the tool itself is neutral but depending on how it is used it can be a force for good or bad.

This week Paul and Aaron start out the conversation with reviewing the video from Project Veritas over the past few weeks of a Dean Of Students in Chicago that had an unusual educational curriculum for his high school students. This conversation then takes a few turns but ultimately ends up with the guys talking about what type of sex education they would like to see for their kids. During the course of the conversation Aaron did make Paul speechless for a few moments with some of his comments - something that does happen often but usually not behind the microphone.
As we had the conversation we did cover a little ground including:

2023 is just starting out and Paul already has a question for Aaron - what does it mean to be a man? After discussing what it means to be a man and manhood for a bit, Paul and Aaron then start another discussion - what should a man not do? This is explored further in a question when Aaron asks what Paul learned growing up and he discusses his experiences growing up having lost his dad during his early teen years and having mostly female (and Mexican) influence in growing up in telling him what a man does NOT do- and never learning what a man does do. Take a listen and learn what each of these two have learned as they have grown up. Also - learn why Andrew Tate honestly is just a boy.

The year 2023 has just started - and Paul and Aaron sat down on 1/1/2023 to record a block of episodes. As they started the block of episodes to kick off the year, Paul decided to hijack the show that they were about to record to issue three things to Aaron - A challenge, a message, and a prayer for Aaron as 2023 starts. While this is intended for Aaron - they decided to record and release the message so listen along and hear what Paul challenges Aaron with to do over the course of the next year.

After a New Year's Eve celebration, Aaron's friend puts on his mentor hat to challenge the talented musician, pack rat, and socialite to tap into his potential and make the most of 2023.
2022 is quickly coming to an end, but that doesn't stop Paul and Aaron from getting behind the microphone to talk about things. The guys took advantage of Christmas break to binge the new season of one of the shows they like - Letterkenny - and as Paul put it - it earned it's M rating this season and came out swinging from episode 1. This quickly leads into them recounting their trip to Pennsylvania as well as a few things that stood out to them, including how the lack of security at the show could've easily resulted in a tragedy if someone wanted to take advantage of it with ill intentions.
The trip did reveal a few other things, such as how much Aaron doesn't pay attention to his surroundings all the time, how Paul made a mistake asking Aaon to talk him out of buying something, Paul's experience first time smoking a cigar, and how moody Paul's dog is when she is upset.
We did talk about what we want to see change in 2023, things that in 2022 are annoying/no longer needed - because 2023 needs to be better for us all than 2022 has been.

It's the Wednesday before Christmas so we spend some time reflecting on what we will be doing to celebrate Christmas this year. We start out talking about some licensed music that is useful for podcasting/streaming/etc. and listen to a few samples. Things go downhill quickly as we talk about Aaron taking Kringle to his favorite band - August Burns Red. Of course during this conversation, Aaron learns about eggs and why people used to be able to leave eggs on the counters in the past. We start out with Aaron's plans for the Christmas break after the trip to Pennsylvania with Paul. The fun that Aaron will have after getting back from the trip - includes LetterKenny on the 26th, him potentially working alone during the week between Christmas and New Years, Aaron lifting his restriction on not drinking Alcohol and the new rules that go along with this which leads into a conversation about the difference between Heavy and Binge drinking. On a personal note - I have to give Aaron Kudos for his commitment to being dry for so long, and sticking to it even in the face of wanting drinks once in a while.
We then go onto Paul's plans for the Christmas break after the Pennsylvania trip include watching some LetterKenny, and just relaxing in general.
Besides these topics, we talk about how Paul hopes that Brewer has a kid that gives him grief, Paul already planning his Lifest trip in July, and his uncertainty to be able to watch Dr Who going forward now that Disney is subsidizing the show. We also learn that Aaron just now found out that Toby Mac's son died due to a drug overdose in 2019.
