The maritime shipping industry has for a very long time been extremely opaque, analog, and consequently data poor. Fortunately that is starting to change.
One company helping to change that is Singapore's Portcast.io. On this episode of the podcast, I was fortunate enough to get to chat with Nidhi Gupta (@NidhiG_Portcast on Twitter), co-founder and CEO of Portcast.io.
We had a great chat (where I learned loads about this industry) about how access to all kinds of data is helping Portcast.io (and by extension their customers) get a far better idea about when ships are likely to arrive or leave ports. This is crucial data for many organisations.
I really enjoyed putting this podcast together, I hope you enjoy listening to it. If you have any comments/suggestions or questions for the podcast - feel free to leave me a voice message over on my SpeakPipe page or just send it to me as a direct message on Twitter/LinkedIn. Audio messages will get played (unless you specifically ask me not to).
