What does fasting actually do in us—and how does God respond when we seek Him?
In this teaching, we continue our journey into fasting as our church begins a corporate 21-day fast. This message reframes fasting away from pressure, performance, or religious obligation and invites us into something deeper: hunger, humility, and dependence on God.
Drawing from Psalm 27, the teachings of Jesus, and the life of Daniel, we explore how fasting doesn’t make us weak—it reveals our dependence, reorders our desires, and positions our hearts to truly seek the Lord. And when we seek Him with humility, Scripture shows us that God responds—not because we did it perfectly, but because He is faithful.
This teaching also anchors our fast in a shared, corporate focus—listening in the same direction as we ask:
Who is God inviting me to pray for?
And what would it look like to walk with that person toward Him?
Whether you’re just starting the fast or finding your footing along the way, this message is an encouragement to stop striving, say yes to surrender, and trust that God hears and meets those who seek Him.
