Vanderbilt lost its series at Alabama, with some questionable lineup and pitching decisions at the center of that, but the Commodores are still in great shape to be a top-8 national seed and still control their own destiny concerning an SEC title. Also, there are some parallels between this pitching staff and the ones that won Tim Corbin national titles, some interesting stats with run differentials and much, much more.

NOTE: This replaces a previous version of the episode, which was incorrectly downloaded with the wrong audio file. Alan Espinal's walk-off single gave Vanderbilt a sweep of Kentucky, but the key to the series was the Commodore bullpen. Chris Lee and Chip Fridrich talk about how Vandy's defensive prowess may have changed some of what Kentucky wanted to do, how the pitching sets up exceptionally well for the postseason, what changes they'd make to the batting order and how the 'Dores are close to locking up a host spot and a national seed.

Between baseball's being swept at Tennessee, basketball losing its best player (Tyrin Lawrence) to the transfer portal and football losing a starting cornerback (Ja'Dais Richard) on Tuesday night, it's been one of the worst weeks in recent memory for Vanderbilt athletics. Chris Lee and Chip Fridrich start with baseball and discuss a few topics, including the importance of getting pitchers healthy and the impact that could make before moving on to Vanderbilt's being behind everyone else in NIL money and the transfer portal and the impact that's currently having.

Vanderbilt lost a close game in 12 innings on Friday night at Tennessee, which turned into two subsequent blowouts against the Vols afterwards--and all this on the heels of a mid-week blowout by Indiana State. The silver lining--it was a bloody week across the Top 25 and that may not affect the Commodores' postseason seeding much. Meanwhile, it's hard to find a silver lining for the basketball program after Tyrin Lawrence, Vanderbilt's best player, hit the transfer portal on Monday, leaving the 'Dores with a less-than-desirable roster situation in late-April.

Vanderbilt and Tennessee both perform horribly in mid-week losses on Tuesday; does that mean anything coming into this weekend's highly-anticipated series in Knoxville? Chris Lee and Chip Fridrich talk about that series plus, discuss the offensive trends in baseball, some surprises for Vanderbilt at this point in the season, a potential starting lineup change (if one were to happen) and a whole lot more in an hour and a half of baseball talk.

Vanderbilt was without Hunter Owen, and Carter Holton's Saturday start went horribly, but Vanderbilt took two of three against South Carolina despite a 14-6 defeat on Friday night thanks to Patrick Reilly, Greysen Carter and others. RJ Schreck had the weekend's biggest hit to start things and the bottom of the lineup helped just enough even if it wasn't the greatest weekend for some of the younger players. Chris Lee and Luke Wyatt rewind the weekend, look ahead to the Tennessee series and take mailbag questions.
