Veiling Images During Lent with Fr. Rob

In this episode of the Catholic Link podcast, Fr. Rob and Fr. George Elliot discuss veiling sacred images. Beginning with the 5th Sunday of Lent until Good Friday. also known as Passiontide. This is a means of preparing the faithful for the most sacred time of year. It reminds the faithful that we may not understand (see) the cross until it is revealed to us by the Church. And is presented to us in light of the Gospel. Fr. Rob and Fr. George discuss how Paul referred to the cross as a stumbling block to the Greeks and scandal to the Jews. In some ways, we can fall into either of these categories. Where are you in your faith journey? Do you have a hard time understanding the death of Jesus on the cross?

Celebrate on the third, fourth, and fifth Sundays of Lent for those who prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. The history of these rites originates in the Early Church and the Gospel readings for these Sundays. The man born blind, the woman at the well, and Lazarus from the dead, read for at least 1500 years on these Sundays.
