We exist to glorify God. We can’t glory in that which we do not know. However, God, in his infinite wisdom, has given us a way to know his power, to know his mercy, to know his holiness, to know his grace. The only way this can be made known is through the salvation of the condemned through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Come to Christ and know the fullness of God.

God has chosen to reveal to us his goodness, mercy, and love through the elect. God has chosen to reveal to us his justice, holiness, and power through the reprobate. Both are needed for his Glory to be made known in creation.

Passage: Romans 9:6-13

Timothy continues in the series through Paul’s message to the Romans and speaks on how Paul views his relationship to his people and his mission. Here Paul tells us about the glorious mystery that God has worked in saving His children both Jew and Gentile alike. In this, God had a plan to save His elect and call them His people.

Pastor Timothy shares Paul’s concern for his fellow Israelites. Romans 9:1-5

1. The reality of Paul’s anguish.

2. The extent of Paul’s anguish. In this we see the God who makes promises and fulfilled promises in Jesus – and even though people were unfaithful, God is still faithful. So, rejoice that God is faithful and weep for the souls of those who have rejected.

Pastor Timothy shows from Romans 8: 18-30 that God’s powerful determination, his justice and his love give all the comfort and peace that a believer needs, guaranteeing our endurance. Though the world may say we’re forsaken and though we may be tempted to believe we are forsaken by God, we are assured through Jesus’ death and sacrifice that God guarantees our eternal good.

Someday in eternity future, our worship will be perfected with all believers throughout all time. We will worship with no distractions of sin and temptations. We will worship in a perfect location. We will worship in the presence of God. We will clap, shout, bow. Our emotions will be perfect in their expressions. Until that day, God has given us the Spirit to fight for joy in God through corporate worship, preparing for that future day and calling others to glory in our redeemer.
