This mix is a 2representation of my love for electro. My interest in electronic music started mostly with electro and one of my main inspiration was DJ Stingray’s set at dekmantel x boiler room 2016. It’s still one of my favorite sets and listening to it never stops inspiring me. Perfect track selection and crazy vinyl skills. We need more electro in the clubs again!

I wanted to encapsulate everything I love about the different eras and sub-genres of trance in this mix. From classic big room trance moments, to more functional tools that are subtly influenced by trance or pull from it in some small way, I tried to include everything that I’m currently inspired by within the 1.5 hours. The mix slowly builds in terms of speed and energy, and then finishes in a similar place that it started, which tends to be how I generally approach a dj set.

I made this mix to feel like you walking through the dense foliage of a Brazilian jungle. It starts grounded and slowly builds into club-driven territory balanced by interludes that offers space to reflect before the rhythm picks up again. Throughout the mix, I gathered the essence of my roots and sense of rhythm, bringing forward the richness of Brazilian percussion and grooves. I also tried to treat the transitions as clearings, detours, and deeper dives - sometimes leaning into ritualistic sounds, other times drifting into minimal cuts. The idea was to blur the boundaries between tradition and sound, keeping the rhythm as the guiding force.

This is my first ever Dubstep mix, built from some of my favourite tracks in the genre. It was a refreshing step outside of my usual comfort zone, and I really enjoyed exploring how the flow and timings work differently compared to what I’m used to.

This 2 hour podcast is recorded in one take as to represent the intimacy of the present moment. Meaning that my view on a (club) set will also be mirrored in a podcast. In this recording, I set a specific intention and choose my tracks selectively according to the sphere I wanted to create which deviates from a usual peak time set.
