This set is a tribute to my beloved Lea Rose, also known as Radical Softness, who brought a spark of eclecticism to my music and inspired me, a few months ago, to create a non-techno set for Upperberry. It's an exploration of emotions through a wide palette of sounds that have impacted me. Electro, ambient, cinematic, technoid, EBM, and completely unclassifiable tracks sit together in this mix, forming a homage to this remarkable artist who left a void in our lives, our scene, and our world. I will forever love you Lea Rose, and I will never forget you.

My goal for this mix was to create a highly energised sonic experience. With a strong focus on sound design and heavily distorted tracks, the mix conveys feelings of a dystopian, cyberpunk future, echoing themes of rebellion, isolation and the relentless march of technology.

I really enjoyed recording this mix, since it allowed me to showcase a different side of Achat and show some of the styles that inspire me the most for producing Techno.

This mix was constructed around the idea of a soundtrack theme of a dystopian future. Imagine yourself driving your car at night, to go nowhere, just in order to feel the freedom back for a ride. I had a huge pleasure to play some EBM tracks in this mix, EBM was my first love discovering the techno scene, and still is today.

The mix is based on forgotten gems from the dollar bins. Cheap, forgotten and eclectic. There is so much music pressed to vinyl that never will be digitalised especially in the electronic music genre. There are so many records who have b-sides, test pressings that you won't even find on youtube or elsewhere. I dedicate this mix to all the lost gems in the back catalogues of the record store. all these records were bought cheaper than $10 and some of them don't even have a name printed or written on them.

I chose to reflect this mix of hypnotic and deep with a little bit of break in my set because the mix affects me emotionally and I always find the mix of hypnotic and off beat / break sound at slower tempos exciting and deep. The way I reflect my emotions is directly linked to the choices I make in my set. The effect of my set reflecting a deep and emotional journey and seeing the effect it will create is one of the main things that connects me to this set.

With this mix, I’ve tried to captured the sounds that really founded my interest in dance music. I draw a lot of inspiration from the Copenhagen Techno scene and I’m lucky enough to have been mentored by Repro and Adam Askov, and it felt really full circle to play a lot of their music, along with some classics from Schacke and Sugar. I also combined this with some of my newer interests, taking inspiration from UK sounds like Overmono and Joy Orbison. I really tried to focus on building the energy and tension throughout the mix.
