This is my cold reading of Chapter 3 from my novel Hire Lernin': An Idealist's Quest Through the Realm of for-Profit Education. The book is now available from Amazon and most book retailers in hard cover, paperback and eBook editions. 

This is a complete reading of the second chapter from my new novel, Hire Lernin': An Idealist's Quest through the Realm of Higher Education. The novel is a fictionalized version of my own experiences as the dean of a proprietary, for-profit business school in New York City in the late 1980's facing issues not very different from those of the fictional protagonist. Beyond the humor, drama, romance, professional successes and personal failures in the fictionalized narrative lie very serious issues about both for-profit and some segments of traditional non-profit higher education that have been flying under the radar of public awareness for too long and could use a public airing. Although the characters, locations and some situations are a work of fiction, this is a novel only a former insider could write and is intended to both inform and entertain. 

This podcast contains a personal message and plea to remember our fallen and their families on Memorial Day. It concludes with a reading of a sonnet, Death of a Fallen Soldier, based on an actual event.
