Victoria's Lift

In the times before history, there was a tree whose roots and branches once bound every world as one.

Now Victoria has been tricked into awakening that tree and the walls of her home are crumbling beneath it.  The balance of her power is shifting and her music box has been stolen.

Not that Victoria can fix any of this mess.  Not yet.  Not before she hits the ground and learns that someone in her basement is attempting to escape…

Family reunions are rarely ever simple.

It's no different for Victoria, regardless of how strange her world can be.  Now, at a time when her life has been filled by distracting complications, the last thing she needs to be worrying about is her brother.   Especially when he appears out of nowhere and starts asking her for favours.

Then again, hasn't she always had to worry about Merritt?

Chapter One: Cuckoo Stone

Do you want to hear a story? You want to know what's wrong with this town? It's not going to start how you expect. We're dealing with old magic here. And we're dealing with cats. Maybe it's time I tell you all about Victoria, the girl who lived her life close to the shadows and didn't realize one of those shadows was getting ready to break free.
