John 14 : 15. Jesus said, “If you love me, obey my commandments."
When you love a person who is older to you, be it a teacher, principal, or a father, the act of showing love, comes with reverence and respect towards them, and with reverence and respect comes obedience. That's why Jesus said, if you love me, obey my commandments.
Oftentimes, we say we love the lord, but we neither obey Him nor give him reverence.
Obedience of a child and success in their respective fields, brings joy, sunshine and health to the parents. It makes parents proud. When a child excels, parents are not only happy but proud and glad to share their success to others.
But when they fail and be a failure , and when they are disrespectful and show arrogant behaviour with parents, it grieves and hurts them. They mask the failures,c shame and humiliation, and they feel ashamed and hide such bad news secretly within themselves, suffering inside.
Here is short story where father loves the young son very much. Son too loves the father so much so, he takes care of him and helps him as he has an engineering workshop.
This young boy who came regularly to soccer practice but was finding it difficult to get into playing eleven because of stiff competition.
Father told his son, "My son, my only desire is, you must become a great football player." This young boy who loves his father so much, he practiced, practiced and practiced hard to excel and make his father happy.
While he was practicing hard to be selected and make a mark in the prestigious tournament, his loving father would always sit at the far end of the football field watching and waiting for him.
The tournament began and matches began. And for four days, the boy mysteriously did not show up to the practice or to the quarter finals or semifinals.
He appeared suddenly on the day of the most important game for the coach and the team, the finals of the tournament. He went to the coach and said, "Dear Coach sir, I could not come to last few practice matches and for quarter and semifinals. But, pls give me a chance to play in the finals." The Coach replied, "I'm sorry. It's not intentional. It's the all important finals; the reputation of the school depends on this final match. I cannot take risk as you have neither practiced not played important matches."
The boy implored, pleaded and pleaded saying, " Coach sir, I promise I will I will not let you down. I beg if you please let me play, I will bring laurels to the team.
The coach has never seen the boy pleading like this before. So Coach said, "Okay dear student, go and play. But remember the reputation of the school is at stake. Pl don't let me down. I'm answerable to many."
The game started and the boy suprised everyone and the coach. He played like a house on 🔥 fire. Everytime he got the ball possession, he scored a goal. The team had an overwhelming and spectacular win.
When the prize distribution was over and they took hold of the trophy, the coach went up to the star child whom he selected said, "Dear child, how could I be so wrong? I have never seen you play like this before. You kept your name and made me proud. What's the reason behind for such spectacular play? How it happened suddenly?"
The child said, "Coach sir, my father is watching me today." The coach knows from wheré his father used to watch him practice. So, the coach turns around to see where the boy's father used to sit. There was no one there to his suprise.
So the coach said, "Your father used to sit there when you come for practice. I don't see anyone there today." The boy replied, with tears mixed with joy and sorrow. " Dear Coach, I have never told you. My father was blind. Just four days ago he died. Everyday he used to tell me when he comes to watc
