Mt. 05:16. Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your father who is in heaven.

Joyce is a daughter of an Evangelist. She is a very good Basketball player practicing basketball alongwith other University students for University team selection to play a very big international tournament. She is one of the top six players among the twenty. And it will be a cake walk for Joyce to be selected. Sixteen were to be selected among these twenty. On the day of selection, it's been shock not only for this talented player but for the entire team as Joyce's name was not in the selected list....

Joyce said, "I received Christ into my heart as my Saviour one year back and he gave me a new heart. I'm a new creation eversince I invited Christ. I get greater crown and prize than these prizes when I leave this earth. Moreover, I have undiminished joy within me even if I'm not selected. It does not change because of circumstances."

People watch our lives and not our talk....

Once a young couple who are deacons in a church took their six year old daughter along with them for a prayer meeting.....

Topic : Seeking Christ Earnestly! Those Who Are Wise Will Seek Christ Passionately Like Three Wise Men In The Bible...

We can make a note that those who have the heart of seeking Him earnestly and sincerely are wise people. Such will enjoy true joy and purpose in life.

Math 2 : 1 & 2:

…behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen *His star* in the East and have come to worship Him.” .

The irony of truth is, unless we seek Christ passionately like the wise men, we cannot worship Him even though we might sing 100s of christmas songs.

One star blazing in the night sky was so compelling that the wise men of the East loaded their camels with expensive gifts and followed its light to Jerusalem.

King Herod was the highest official in the land, but they were intent on finding another king. “Where is He?” they fervently asked. King Herod might have had a jolt and become restless on hearing this news.

Where is he who has been born King of the Jews? And why? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. May it be true to us not only in 2022, but also throughout our lives to seek and worship Him.

Let us always be seeking Jesus in His holy Word; let us always be seeking to do His will; let us always be seeking to worship Him, remembering that faith—trusting in Him for forgiveness of sin and peace and reconciliation with God and man; ....

And their next declaration was most interesting!

“For we have seen His star….” They had not been captivated by a peculiar or particularly bright star. The adjective they used was quite specific; they had seen *His star*. Of the millions of lights in the sky that night, only one announced, “Jesus is here.”

In this life, we are enticed by many distractions. Our eyes are drawn to look, and our ears are lured to listen. Many paths promise to be the proper one; many roads seem the right one. People look to money or relationships or pleasures to find wholeness. They believe that their good works or intellect can save them.

Only one Star leads to heaven, and His name is Jesus. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His is the only Name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Let us come to worship Him.

Topic : God's Unmerited Favour, His Mercies And Overflowing Blessings Are Always There For His Faithful Children.

"Fear not Zecharias; For thy prayer is heard." For God's children blessings can be a delay but never denial. Never give up!

Luke 01: 05 to 18. There were in the days of Herod, the King Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias of the division of Abhijah. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

And they were both righteous before God walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord and were blameless before the lord.

But they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and they were both well advanced in years.

Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. But when Zecharias saw him

he was troubled and fear fell upon him..

But the angel said to him, "Fear not Zecharias; for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord."

And Zacharias said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years." And the angel answered and said to him, "I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. And was sent to speak to you and bring you these glad tidings. But behold, thou shall be dumb and not able to speak untill the day these things take place. Because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time."

And the people waited for Zecharias, and they marvelled that he lingered so long in the temple. And when he came out, he could not speak to them; and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple.

Soon it was as the days of his service was completed, he departed to his own house. Now after these days, his wife Elizabeth has conceived.

Because of the righteous and blameless life of both Zecharias and Elizabeth, God's unmerited favour, God's abundant mercy and His overflowing grace has covered the lapse of unbelief and still blessed them graciously with the child which was eluding them in their long marital life.

The theme of today's devotion is "Our God is a God who bestows His unmerited favour, and He is the God of mercy and grace inspite of our limitations and weaknesses. But when we live faithfully for Him and a blameless life, He will show us His favour even to us in our lack. It could be lack of good health, a good job, a good life partner, a peaceful life you are looking for. He will accomplish in our lives! Amen!

Topic: Our Future Is Much Better Than Yesterday, Because He Transforms Us From Glory To Glory.

2 Corint 3 18:

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

As believers in Jesus Christ, we can count on our tomorrows being better than our yesterdays. The Spirit of God works in us, with ever-increasing splendor, so that we become more and more like Him.

Too many children of God believe that their best is behind them. They look back at the mountain top experiences, the miracles that God did, or the way He moved back then, and they are not convinced that He still does the impossible.

God has more for us for tomorrow than He has today. The triumphs of yesterday are wonderful reminders of what the Lord did in a past season, but they should not be where we hang our hopes and expectations. We should carry those memories into the future, believing that He can do it all again.

God healed the blind eyes, the deaf ears, and the lame legs in the past, and He still heals today. God provided for the destitute widow, and He still meets our needs today. God saved the jailer and his whole family, and we as His children are not beyond His reach.

His performance in the past builds our expectations for the future. He takes us from glory to glory! And from one evel of holiness to another; from one victory to another.

Topic: Understanding The Sovereignty Of The Lord God Almighty And His Unending Love Towards Us. His Name Is Wonderful, Counsellor, The Might God, Everlasting Father And Prince of Peace. - Isia 9:6.

When we consider only the things that we know, our expertise limits our expectations.

We fail to account for a sovereign God Who knows all things, and who is Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God.

He understands things that we have not even considered. In fact we limit His provision, we limit His power, and often we dont give importance to His presence in our day to day lives.

We limit God to a certain size. We forget that, not only does He know about our current needs, He was and is aware of them before we even knew they existed. When we bring our request to Him, He already knows how He will solve it.

Yet, we often argue His answer. We tell Him how to figure out what He has already solved. If His response does not look like we expected, we are disappointed. Wouldn’t it be wiser to trust in a God Who can accomplish much more than our expertise leads us to expect?

If we had relied on our expertise, Mary would not have experienced a virgin birth.

Jesus would have never fed 5000 with a few fish and loaves.

Lazarus would have remained in a tomb. The way of the Cross would not have led to redemption.

Death would not have given way to victorious, overcoming life.

In our expert opinion, none of that makes sense! None of that should have happened. But God specializes in the unexpected, and we can trust in His right way. His ways are supernatural because He is the chief Counselor, The Mighty God, and the Prince of peace.

Ps 145 : 7;

They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.

His birth, death on the cross and His resurrection has given us victory over satan, over sin, over all situations in our lives and even over death. A true child of God is no more scared of death because of goodness of the Almighty God.

Our expectations are not just built on faith. The things for which we hope and believe, are influenced by how people have acted in the past.

Our expectations are determined by what others have done. People may have failed to fulfill our hopes, discouraged us, and let us down. There is One, though, Who never disappoints those who put their trust in Him.

Consider the powerful gift God gave us through His Son. God clothed Jesus in our unrighteousness, so we might wear robes of royalty. Christ went to the grave where we were supposed to lie to give us everlasting life instead.

He rose again – victorious over death, hell, and the grave – so we could be more than conquerors. He emptied Himself, so we might be filled with His splendor.

He made amends with God and paid the price, so we could boldly approach the throne of our Father. When we raise our voices, God no longer hears the sinners of old; He hears the children of God who have been set free by the Blood of Jesus Christ!

This same God Who loved us so much that He sent His cherished Son is the same One Who watches over us today. His past goodness proves that we can still expect the unexpected – above what we can even ask or imagine!

In All Toil There Is Profit, But Mere Talk Leads To Poverty.

- Prov. 14: 23.

Working hard with self discipline when going through struggles and challenges, is the true mark of a winner.

"Struggle is real, but so are the blessings."

"There are hidden blessings in every struggle."

The nominal Christian life that costs nothing is not worthy of the name. There has to be self restraint, discipline and severe schooling. There must be struggle and the agonising effort. If we have to reach the goal, and win the prize, we must put every energy of life into the race or mission we carry. There must be sacrifice of indolence, self will and personal ease. Too much pampering spoils an earnest Christian.

Every noble life is a struggle from beginning to end. Only those who resist and fight and overcome are successful in life.

This is true in every sphere - in business, in study, in professional life and in spiritual life too!!

Profound evangelist who worked and toiled 18 hours in a day once said, "Nothing comes easy in life. Nothing. We need to pay the cost.

Sitting in an easy chair relaxing for hours together on social media and friends will take us only to mediocrity. And settle in ordinary job or position be it our professional or spiritual lives.

Are we resisting sin, overcoming temptation, living Victoriously in trials? If so, we can expect fruitfulness and success in our professional and spiritual lives. If not, we are not living worthily and thereby reap failures, disappointment and dejection. It's our own doing..

Topic: Coming Closer To Christ During This Advent Season Is The Blessed Thing!

Here Jesus delivered a person from an unclean spirit who was living in the tomb crying out and cutting himself with stones. No one could bind him, not even with chains. Jesus delivered him and sent the unclean spirit into the herd of swine who went and drowned into the sea. And so they began to plead Jesus to move away from their region.

*This is one of the saddest sentences in the Gospels.* We can scarcely conceive of any person asking Jesus to go away. Some people feel blessed n joyful to have Jesus in their lives. They have the real joy and meaning in life.

For some, it's indeed a costly affair. Like today's Word in the Bible consciously or unconsciously they are not comfortable to have Jesus in their lives because they are bound with the chains and strings of the worldly attachments, pleasures and desires and self centred lives. So, the Lord does not interfere with our cherished self centred plans and desires. Jesus did not stay after after they asked Him to go. He would never stay where He is not wanted. He will carry back His presence from there. And hence sadly we see many desire to keep Jesus away for their own selfish ends.

Praise God! There are many who take advent season seriously for introspection, to shun and trim away selfishness, jealousy, pride, hatred, anger, self possessiveness replacing with unselfishness, love, humility, patience, gentleness, blessing others, praying for others and loving others unconditionally - those who despise, hate, hurt and harm us.

Topic : Prince Of Peace! For Unto Us A Child Is Born, Unto Us A Son Is Given: And The Government Shall Be Upon His Shoulder: And His Name Shall Be Called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Arduous Search For Peace Ends Here - Jesus Christ, The Prince Of Peace!

Young people, elderly, celebrities and the world all over is in quest for peace. To find meaning and purpose, rest from the stress and anxieties the world experimented with the pleasures of the world and sin. Their arduous search for peace eluded them.

Lot of people including the wealthy and celebrities are searching for peace. In a world filled with stress and anxieties, though they have wealth, fame and power, they are looking for rest. Mental rest. Wealth cannot give security, fame and power cannot give us security.

Peace is not found in any place. Peace is not found in any treaty or ban on guns. Peace is only found in a person. That person is the Lord Jesus Christ who was born to die for our sins, but rose again defeating satan on the cross and conquering sin. He is the Prince of Peace, literally the captain and ruler of the peace. This peace we get only when we truly believe in receiving that person into our lives acknowledging He died for our sins, buried and rose again...

Let us read from the divine Word of God. John 14:27, Jesus told His disciples, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. I do not give to you as the world gives. So, do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Philip. 4:6 says, "Do not be anxious of anything; but in everything with prayer and supplication the requests be made. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding rule our hearts and minds. "

That's the real peace, and that's the kind of peace to all who follow Him. It's not the absence of turmoil, but the tranquility in the midst of turmoil.
