Surrender (To a higher power)
Description
To surrender in spirituality and religion means that a believer completely gives up his own will and subjects his thoughts, ideas, and deeds to the will and teachings of a higher power. It may also be contrasted with Submission. Surrender is willful acceptance and yielding to a dominating force and their will.

thank you guys for tuning in to
victorious and recovery you know this
week has actually been really good
on
wednesday i had my friend
joshua russell share his story and it
was great i got a great response thank
you everybody that tuned in and shared
that with me
this coming week i actually have another
special guest on wednesday
by the name of chris wells
is a guy i met out in fairview oklahoma
a few years back
when i was
on a different journey that didn't quite
take but it was one of my attempts to
get clean
i was out there at a church
that had offered to let me come out and
actually live in the church for a while
while i
sought god and and my recovery and
everything
like i said i i didn't stay clean um but
i'm forever grateful for the time that i
had there and for the friends that i
made
chris has actually become an evangelist
and the national chaplain of repented
motorcycle ministries worldwide
so he has a great story
it's not too much unlike mine and like
the rest of us you know we all have a
lot of things in common
so i look forward to having him here on
wednesday and i encourage you guys to
tune in and check it out
you know as you guys know i'm i'm trying
to really kind of go a different
route once a week
with uh new speakers and i'm just kind
of getting the feel
getting the feel for what this podcast
can do in people's lives and
hopefully give a little bit broader of a
spectrum
than just my own opinion of course
and i try to do that by bringing
different scripture and different
commentary from certain books and
whatnot
but
i'm trying to take that a little bit
further with some new insight from some
new people
that have great stories and so anyways
there was a great response so far i
appreciate it and i think you guys are
gonna really like this
as always if you guys know anybody that
could benefit from hearing my story or
one of the other special guest stories
or they just need encouragement to know
that they're not alone in their struggle
trying to recover
point them this way and
encourage them to be a part of this
i was just told on friday
that i'm actually going to be speaking
at a group called the breakfast club in
oklahoma city
and i'll get back on here with some more
details or you can hit up my facebook
site and i'll have the details there the
address and the time and all that so if
you can come out and join us for the
night it's a narcotics anonymous group
and even though it's called the
breakfast club is actually at night at
8pm on wednesdays and fridays
this week was one of those weeks where
i was just i was trying to deal with
some insecurities
i had some insecurities and fears about
a person that i've been in a
relationship with
and
her beliefs were a little different than
mine and
given my path and what
i see might be my future
that scared me a little bit
and of course as we do sometimes i
didn't ask her opinion i didn't
discuss it with her other than in
passing
i chose to take a conversation that
could have been casual and turned it
into a conversation that ended up with
us breaking up and it didn't have to be
that way
you know the more i thought about it the
more i reflected on that conversation
that decision that fear that i had
of moving forward in a relationship with
somebody that our beliefs weren't the
same
the more i felt like i had been rash in
that decision
so of course i reached out to some
people
that i trust and respect and
unfortunately for me they kind of
pointed out that i can be a little bit
shallow and i can be a little bit quick
to make those decisions
and
they didn't say it
directly
