As we've been reporting a suspect is in custody after police say he pulled out a cleaver and slashed a rider on a BART train in the Transbay Tube this afternoon before grabbing the victims backpack and running off the train the West Oakland station, only to be greeted by awaiting police officers.

This comes a day after a poll was released showing that crime was a major concern to a large number of riders.
