Voices of Wrestling Podcast Network

This week on Wrestling Omakase we're once again talking New Japan and DDT! John is joined by five-time returning guest Taylor Maimbourg (@tamaimbo) to break down some big shows from both promotions. First we've got a solid hour of Dramatic Dream Team talk, as we discuss their 7/22 DDT Korakuen (Summer Vacation 2018). Here us break down a bit of a disappointing show including the ongoing trials and tribulations of the Irie-gun unit, new tag team champions, the downfall of BIG LOVE and more. Once that's out of the way we run down some upcoming major cards in DDT, including this week's Maji Manji featuring the ladies of Sendai Girls in the main event and the upcoming Beer Garden lineups, including a 16-match first round of King of DDT all in one night!

Once that's out of the way we move on to breaking down four more NJPW G1 Climax shows, namely the three Korakuens from 7/19-7/21 and the Hachioji show from 7/22\. Hear us offer bountiful praise for the B block matches except for Tama Tonga's, praise for Tama Tonga's troop-insulting skills but not quite his wrestling, and some more mixed feelings on the A block contests. We then wrap things up with a brief look ahead at what's to come in the G1\. It's a packed, Korakuen-heavy edition of Omakase, this week!

Chris Harrington (@mookieghana) and Brandon Howard (@brandonthurston) discuss this week's news:

* Hulk Hogan returns to WWE?

* WWE Q2 Preview

* ROH/NJPW Show

* Sinclair-Tribune

The first half, Jeff rages against bad storytelling, bad booking, bad everything about a bad Extreme Rules and the odd main roster shows, with a tip of the cap to Die Hard's 30th anniversary.  Then, the wonderful salve that was 205 Live and NXT

This week on the Voices of Wrestling flagship podcast, Joe and Rich bury a ridiculously awful WWE Extreme Rules 2018 show, preview Impact Wrestling's Slammiversary XVI, catch up on the G1 Climax 28 , preview what's to come this weekend from NJPW, wedding strategies and much more.

This week on Wrestling Omakase our primary topic is the first 3 nights of the G1 Climax. John is joined by returning guest Kevin Brown (@darukinoi) and first time guest Jack Beckmann (@packerman120) as they discuss all 15 G1 Climax tournament matches so far, including some wildly diverging opinions on some of the biggest matchups (mainly centering around the 'ol knife pervert himself, Jay White). Plus there's some brief discussion of the truly hideous Extreme Rules PPV, which John caught a little of and Jack unfortunately watched all of to review for the VOW website. We also tackle some listener questions including what could cause an NJPW crowd to reject a main event like WWE fans do routinely now and more. Finally, John & Kevin wrap things up with a surprisingly long discussion of their shared love/hate relationship with the Attack on Titan manga and a recap of its frankly insane story. Note that this does contain some major spoilers if you're watching the anime, but it's the last topic of the show and we clearly note when we're going to discuss spoilers so you'll have plenty of warning. It's a wild and wacky edition of Omakase, this week!

On this week's edition of the Super J-Cast , Joel and Damon catch you up on the opening three nights of G1 Climax 28\. The lads also discuss the announced NJPW date at Madison Square Garden, match quality vs character development, more praise for the commentary team, Joel's opera tips, and Music Damon makes a triumphant return.

It's the one time of year WWE gets extreme....except all those other times.  Rob and Jeff both preview the Sunday PPV and Jeff has a few thoughts on JR, the Mae Young Classic and ROH/NJPW in MSG (letters!)

This week on Wrestling Omakase we bring you yet another G1 Special in San Francisco review, albeit with the unique perspective of a lapsed ex-New Japan fan! Frequent returning guest Jesse (@K0jiii) promised to review a big New Japan show if her beloved Washington Capitals won the Stanley Cup, and so here we are. Before we get to the show though there's a discussion of the Caps and hockey in general, this weekend's upcoming World Cup final, and the breaking news just before we recorded of the upcoming ROH/NJPW show at Madison Square Garden. Once all of that is out of the way, we break down every match from the Moo Palace show, and why such a BULLET CLUB-centric event may not necessarily be for us. Hear our thoughts on the very long Kenny-Cody main event, a star making performance for Jay White, Hiromu's injury, the Young Bucks retaining the tag titles and whether it hurts EVIL and SANADA, and much more. Once that's out of the way we jump into a big mailbag featuring a lot of topics, but mainly centered around DDT & Big Japan. It's a wild and free ranging episode, this week on Wrestling Omakase!
