This week on Wrestling Omakase we present our first ever Mid Year Awards! I'm joined by a panel of guests as we take this moment, exactly halfway through 2018, to pick our award winners and contenders across a variety of the traditional Observer-style Year End Awards categories. Plus, we discuss who we think might rise or fall in the rest of the year as well! My guests include two first timers as well as two returning guests: returning are Jeff Hawkins (@Crapgame13) from Shake Them Ropes and Taylor Maimbourg (@tamaimbo) of Voices of Wrestling. Making their debuts are Emily Pratt (@emilyofpratt) from Uproxx and Skylar (@Twwitterdotcom) from, uh, Twitter dot com!

Here's the full list of awards we discuss on the show, though not in order of discussion:

-Feud of the Year

-Tag Team

-Best Promotion

-Match of the Year

-Best Major Show

This week on the Flagship, we take a look at the eclectic 2018 Battle of Los Angeles field and what it says about the current "super indie" scene in America. We've got a full breakdown and analysis of both nights of the WWE United Kingdom Tournament, including who looked good, who didn't, and where it all goes from here. We wrap things up with reviews of the latest ROH, MLW, and Impact Wrestling television offerings.

A very important message from Rob and Jeff on the future of Shake Them Ropes throughout the episode, but the final 10 minutes gets to the heart of the matter. Plus, this week in WWE TV... and booking the reveal of Braun Strowman's neighbors.

Oli is joined by a returning Robin to preview a very big week of Japanese flavoured BritWres. Along with an in-depth preview of the Strong Style Evolved UK shows, the boys also walk through their thoughts on Will Ospreay's new Frontline Pro Wrestling promotion and FCP's International Tekkers show, before closing things out with talk of NXT's UK expansion.

On this episode of Music of the Mat, Andrew devotes his attention entirely to one song: "Kaze ni Nare" by Ayumi Nakamura, the entrance music of legendary Japanese wrestler Minoru Suzuki. Andrew discusses the history of "Kaze ni Nare," Suzuki's relationship with Nakamura, the emotional core of the song, and much more!

Nate (@epitasis) and Jake (@Oatgan) from... Twitter join the show to break down EVOLVE's June shows. We discuss whether putting the WWN title on Joey Janela makes sense, whether Darby Allin would succeed in NXT or NJPW, and what questions I should ask Jarek if he comes on the podcast!

Plus, Aaron tries to explain his jokes that no one likes!

This week on Wrestling Omakase we talk the two biggest promotions in Tokyo, NJPW and DDT! John is joined by first time guest Arrum (@AHROOMEE) all the way from Indonesia, as she brings her passionate fandom of both promotions to the podcast. First they discuss the DDT 6/24 Korakuen show (WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2018!!!) as they break down all six matches on the card and discuss where things are going in the Dramatic Dream Team from here. Hear their thoughts on Shigehiro Irie's controversial title reign and a big defense against Kazusada Higuchi, a hot KO-D 6-Man Tag Title match, some comedy (of course) and more. They then talk about the next few weeks of Manji Manji, DDT's weekly show, and some other upcoming matches. Attention is then turned to New Japan, where they give a full preview of the upcoming G1 Climax Tournament. John & Arrum go in alphabetical order through both blocks, listing each wrestler's matches in the G1 and then each picking a most anticipated matchup for every competitor. Finally, they wrap things up with a quick preview of the upcoming G1 Special in San Francisco show on 7/7\. It's all things DDT & New Japan, this week on Wrestling Omakase!
