The New Japan Purocast returns with the first episode of 2017! Ring in the New Year as we present the 2nd Annual Purocast “End of Year Awards”, as voted on by YOU the listeners!

It's a one topic show this week as Joe and Rich break down New Japan Pro Wrestling Wrestle Kingdom 11. A discussion of each and every match, the build to the event, predictions and a bit of a statistical year in review highlight the preview.

Will Kenny Omega walk out of the Tokyo Dome as champion? Can Tetsuya Naito put a bow on his breakout 2016 with a definitive win over Hiroshi Tanahashi? What matches suffered with some suspicious booking? What's the darkhorse match that not enough people are talking about? Could this be the greatest Wrestle Kingdom ever? All these questions and much more are answered in this massive preview.

A loaded and expanded edition of STR to close out 2016! Rob & Jeff will run through the year that was in WWE and NXT, while also doling out the prestigious year end awards to a select group of worthy recipients. Also, TLC 2 pops up on the Top 100 Matches to See on WWE Network countdown. Support STR and get FREE FOOD! Try out Blue Apron right now and get 3 Meals Free at http://www.blueapron.com/shake!

OTVG is back at it again with a post-Christmas episode covering two big DG shows: the 12/20 Korakuen show with the DOI DARTS~~ main event, and Final Gate from Christmas day. Here our thoughts on all the matches from both shows, including some very divergent takes on the controversial Final Gate main event! Plus, some NOAH talk inexplicably runs in and boy howdy does Milo (the artist formerly known as Kay) have some things to say about Atsushi Kotoge.

Meanwhile, we discuss match #2 in our Retro Rewatch Series, as Milo's pick gives us the wonderful gift of the Toryumon Japan 4-way six man from 2003, Crazy MAX vs. Shin M2K vs. Do FIXER vs. Italian Connection! We also tackle a couple of questions, John tries to shoehorn in Japanese (and completely botches the word for "word" on their first try), and more!

Please note that this is your absolute last chance to vote in the 1st Annual OTVG Year-End Awards, as ballots will be CLOSING on January 4th, 2016 (at 8 pm EST)! If you don't get your ballot in by then, it will not be counted! Please go to https://bit.ly/OTVG-Awards16 to find the ballot and then e-mail it to [email protected]. Results will be announced in a post on VOW shortly after balloting closes, and we'll discuss them all in detail on the next episode of Open the Voice Gate!
