Voices of Wrestling Podcast Network

The Voices of Wrestling flagship podcast comes early this week as the Thanksgiving Holiday bumps the show up a few days. Don't fret, we're chucked full of topics from an insane week of pro wrestling!

Joe and Rich talk Survivor Series 2016 including the shocking main event between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. We stay in WWE land with a discussion of NXT TakeOver: Toronto, the DIY/Revival Tag Title match and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe. We also cover All Japan Pro Wrestling's upcoming Sumo Hall show, news on Gabe Sapolsky and FIP, Style Battle, Marty Scurll and much more!

While Collin holds down the fort back home in the States, Damon joins us from Melbourne Australia! We review “Wrestling World in Singapore” from 11/15. Plus, we talk the Wrestle Kingdom 11 lineup, Global Wars U.K., the opening night of the World Tag League, and much more!

Arn and Oli give an in-depth rundown of the fantastic RPW/NJPW Global Wars UK double-shot highlighted by a phenomenal match between Chris Hero and Katsuyori Shibata. The guys also run down the huge ICW Fear & Loathing show.

It's a special bonus episode of Open the Voice Gate, as John and Michael are joined by a very special guest to discuss the unique history of Dragon Gate/Toryumon's many units! Joining us all the way from Japan is Jae of IHeartDG.com, the man who has run the primary English language site for the Dragon system for the past 16 years! Jae shares his expertise with us as we discuss as many units as we can cram into a packed three hours, everything from Crazy MAX and M2K through Blood Warriors and Junction Three!

Plus, hear Jae's thoughts on what's kept his coverage going through all the ups and downs, the current state of DG's unit situation and what he thinks might happen in December as the shakeup continues, how being in the crowd in Japan every month has changed him as a fan, his favorite years of DG overall, and much more! It's an extremely packed episode that literally takes us to the limit of our podcast host, so there's a ton in here for longtime and new DG fans alike! Thanks again to Jae for joining us and we hope you'll enjoy!

As a reminder, don't forget that our first annual Open the Voice Gate awards ballots are still being collected! Go to http://bit.ly/OTVG-Awards16 to get your ballot and send them via e-mail to [email protected]. Thanks for listening!

The VOW flagship is back at full power with Lanza back in the College Station territory. We recap Joe's trip to New Jersey, Cookie Puss ice cream cake, cooking Italian food and much more. On the wrestling side, we discuss Joey Styles' controversial comments at EVOLVE last week, the upcoming NXT Takeover: Toronto and WWE Survivor Series 2016 shows and NJPW's recent Wrestling World in Singapore 2016 show featuring the newsworthy Katsuyori Shibata NEVER title win.

Rob McCarron of Shake Them Ropes and Jeff Hawkins of Shake Them Ropes join together on this brand new edition of Shake Them Ropes! NXT Takeover: Toronto is on the agenda. If that's not enough for you, it's time to preview WWE Survivor Series, also! Plus, HBK's retirement match from WrestleMania 26. Oh, and last but not least... Who was CM Punk's best opponent in WWE!? All this and more on the Slammy Award winning Shake Them Ropes podcast!

A new era begins for your-favorite-by-default Dragon Gate podcast, in more ways that one: Michael Spears joins us full time as the new fourth co-host, we record our first podcast since Our Tozawa Left Us, and oh yeah, it's the first episode since the American electorate revealed the full depths of its stupidity. No, thankfully there is no election talk on this episode to speak of really, but still: last month we had Tozawa and no Trump, now we have no Tozawa and a Trump. Depressing!

But don't worry, we're here to be your shining light in the all-consuming darkness. We discuss Tozawa's final send-off and the entire Gate of Destiny PPV, his comedy fat man days from 8 years ago and how far he's come since then, the first post-Tozawa Korakuen show BRAND NEW GATE, the children of DG play dress-up, and more! Plus we introduce our first-annual OTVG Year End Awards, which YOU can vote on RIGHT NOW! Visit http://bit.ly/OTVG-Awards16 to see the full ballot and send in your selections by 1/4/17 to openthevoicegate @ gmail. Let's see if we can do better than 53% of the eligible electorate! Yeesh.

*Note: At the top of the show I explain a number of issues we had recording this episode. As a result much of the podcast was lost and the parts that were resurrected are below our normal call/sound quality. We thank you for your patience and continued support*

With the vacationing Joe Lanza MIA, Rich Kraetsch is joined by VOW young boy Case Lowe to discuss all the latest in New Japan Pro Wrestling including NJPW Power Struggle 2016, a honest-to-god good Guerrillas of Destiny match, KUSHIDA's harder edge, the TIMEBOMB reveal and much more. The last half of the show sticks with NJPW as Case and Rich talk World Tag League, ponder why the hell Billy Gunn is in it and more. Last but not least, we do a quick look at what we know so far of the Wrestle Kingdom 11 card and our hype level for each of the matches.

Rob and Jeff return for Shake Them Ropes #182 (omg we're so close to 200!) and discuss all the hot topics in WWE this week... rapid fire style. Bayley's crowd reactions in Scotland, Baron Corbin off of Survivor Series, Zayn vs Ziggler, are the Cruiserweights moving to Smackdown, and much more. Thanks to Dollar Shave Club for providing STR listeners with their first month free of The Club @ http://www.dollarshaveclub.com/ropes!

In this week’s edition of the New Japan Purocast, we review Power Struggle 2016, which took place on 11/5 in front of a sold out crowd at the Edion Arena in Osaka . Plus, we announce the nominees for the second-annual Purocast “End of Year Awards”.
