Voices Radio

Off-centre takes a sideways step into club music and seeks out all sounds weird, wonky and wonderful. This month is a bit of a post-summer/back 2 school breather as we lean into lots of slower — but not necessarily sleepier — sounds.

Override w/ Little Luce returns for September, the show centring FLINTA* producers, vocalists and DJs. Reclaiming space in a scene shifting backwards, this show highlights some of the best FLINTA* talent dance music.

At a time when the culture feels like it’s regressing, and we are seeing a rise in all-male lineups, Override stands as both a response and a statement; intentional, unapologetic, and necessary. It’s about shifting the narrative, amplifying underrepresented artists, and reminding listeners just how vital women are to dance music and the culture.

The atmospheric/dub techno saga continues for this month’s mix — heavy on texture, layers, deep low end and plenty of sonic interest. Rhythms shift between classic techno grooves and broken beats, but the focus stays on atmosphere over impact.

An hour of pure 1990's Deep House, played entirely from vinyl and carefully selected from my own personal collection.

This mix is a journey through the deeper, warmer and more soulful side of 1990's house music... a time when it was all about the groove, the feeling and the magic. Every track in this session has a story, a memory or a particular feeling attached to it, making this a very personal selection of tunes that has stayed with me over the years.

From Strictly Rhythm and Nervous Records, to the soulful productions of Roy Davis Jr. and the phenomenal sound of Basement Jaxx... this is a collection built around atmosphere, rhythm and that unmistakable 90's Chicago sound.

Music made for late nights, long drives, after-hours sessions and moments when you need to disappear into the rhythm.

From the States to your speakers... catch a groove :)
