We don’t mean to be Snide(er), but we’re not sure how we’re going to feel about this series, but you bet your Ga’Hoole that we’re ready to be Sucker Punch(ed) into Watch(ing) the filmography of Zack Snyder. To start us off, the fellas talk his debut film, an already influential remake of George A. Romero’s, Dawn of the Dead. When there's no more room in hell, the boys will watch Zack Snyder.
We're briefly returning to the Antoine Fuqua well with his latest film, Infinite. It's essentially Scorsese’s Kundun, but if it was an action movie. Suffice it to say, a more apt title for this movie would be Kundumb. Join our resident cinephiles Jason, Paco and Terry as they try to make sense of the disheveled mess that is Fuqua’s latest installment to his filmography. Fuqua, we still love you…we just hope you make it up with The Guilty.
The return of friend of the pod, Cary Elwes (Elvis) in a role similarly charming to the Princess Bride. Side note: it takes the fellas 13 minutes and 52 seconds to start talking about Robin Hood, so be prepared for that. It’s not that it’s a terrible movie, it’s just…not as bad as Spaceballs, but….okay it’s got some great comedy, but….oh screw it. Just enjoy the episode. We had fun. They had fun. Who? You know. Them. It’s a Brooks fan fiction. Whadaya waaaant?? Anyway, join Cinemecca’s resident cinephiles, Paco, Jason and Terry as they discuss Brooks’ love for modernization in a period piece, and a cast that can’t quite replace his staples, but are ultimately doing their best and obviously having fun with it.

In the post Reagan era, an era that produced a Wall Street persona, as well as films such as Trading Places and Brewster’s Millions, Mel Brooks’ Life Stinks looks to tackle both the struggle of the less fortunate, as well as the flaw in American capitalism and the way in which the rich play games with their fortune, much to the disadvantage of the poorer populations in America. Join the vulgarians Jason, Paco and Terry as they pick apart the nuances, as well as the flaws that an auteur such as Mel Brooks seeks in helming one of his more earnest projects. In this case, Brooks definitely tries, but he might have done better with just sending a telegram. Maybe write to your congressperson? *shrug emoji*
Welcome to the future...or the past...Brooks isn’t clear about where his parody starts with Star Wars and ends with the sci-fi genre in general. Also, why did we love this movie so much as kids?......wait.....that might explain a lot about this movie. Join the fellas Jason, Paco and Terry as they discuss the difference between peeing one’s pants and peeing on one’s pants, as well as what happens when good actors are given a....*cringe* not so good script. The Schwartz is not with this one....or maybe too much of the Schwartz. Shrug?
It’s good to be the king...until you’re revealed to be a blatant sex offender. This movie is as much a sword and sandals comedy as it is a Harvey Weinstein throughout the ages historical fable. Join our resident cinephiles (not as bad as it sounds) Paco, Jason and Terry as they reveal the nuances of a comedic giant like Mel Brooks, and his downward turn in a genre that Brooks himself helped to pioneer, as well as the ways in which he’s still got it at this point in his career. All things considered, Brooks was still able to Count De Monet.
