IT’S HARD TO OVERESTIMATE THE ROLE OF PEOPLE IN BUSINESS SYSTEMS.

Undeniably, tools and processes are core components (we spoke about that in part 1 and 2 of our mini-series),

BUT without the humans involved in your business, they mean nothing!

Your clients, your team, and the leadership team all play their part. But a few things need to fall into place to get the best out of your business tools and processes.

I’m talking about

• The benefit of hiring a process manager (and my own experience with this)
• A how-to guide to make sure you get the best out of your people (yourself included).

• In Part 2 (Ep 79) We explored the importance of having a clear and efficient process in place, and discussed how to design and implement a process that works for your business. I provided tips on where and how to store your standard operating procedures.
• And in Part 3 (this episode 80) I highlighted the role of people in business systems: the importance of having a team that is committed to continuous improvement of your systems and the focus a dedicated process manager can bring when it comes to managing and optimising your systems.

Can I afford to hire an employee?

It’s a question I received from a podcast listener. The answer is not always straightforward. So, I’m sharing a 3 step checklist I use to get a confident YES to the question.

If you want to know when to hire for your small business, you

1. Need to deeply understand your business financials.
2. Have a vision of who you are, where you are going, and how you want to do that.
3. Remove the bottlenecks: establish a sound marketing strategy, track your sales pipeline, and create a very slick sales process.  

This will strengthen your financial projections so you can confidently go ahead with the hire of your new employee.
