Can I afford to hire an employee?

It’s a question I received from a podcast listener. The answer is not always straightforward. So, I’m sharing a 3 step checklist I use to get a confident YES to the question.

If you want to know when to hire for your small business, you

1. Need to deeply understand your business financials.
2. Have a vision of who you are, where you are going, and how you want to do that.
3. Remove the bottlenecks: establish a sound marketing strategy, track your sales pipeline, and create a very slick sales process.  

This will strengthen your financial projections so you can confidently go ahead with the hire of your new employee.

Creating your future business by design rather than default?

When I'm working with a client, one of the first things I always ask is what they want their business to give to them? It’s THAT important!

Do you know?

WHY ARE YOU IN BUSINESS?

Sadly, there's an expectation that it has to be deep and meaningful. And I want you to dispel that thought today. Your WHY is whatever you want it to be!

Frankly, it's not for anybody else to say if your WHY is right, or wrong, or anything else.

THAT SAID...YOU STILL HAVE TO ANSWER THE QUESTION.

Because once you can articulate that, you have a clearer picture of where you're headed. And planning for the year ahead becomes so much more focussed.

So...WHY are you in business? Let’s answer that question, without judgement!
