In this week's episode, we journey into the territory of poetry and find a little hut of sanctuary to help us tune into some breadcrumbs of meaning amidst the crises of our times.
Alexandre shares a poem called "Waking up, Waking down", that moves us to explore the "silent signature" we each came here with, inspired by the teachings of Martin Prechtel and what many Ancients spoke and wrote about in many ways: from the Roman idea of the Genius, the Greek idea of the Daimon, and Rumi's delicious line of poetry that says "there's a secret turning inside you, that turns the universe."
We begin by recalling the ancient art of spoken word, and wonder about how poetic thinking and Mythos might act as a healing balm for the afflictions inflicted on the soul due to the hyper-rationality and literalism that pervades our current socio-cultural-political climate. We ponder on the destructive nature of one-sided thinking, and the harmful effects of losing touch with what it means to be an ensouled and entangled extension of Mother Earth. In the heat and heart of our conversation, William Stafford's words begin to elder us, imploring us to remember how important it is for "awake people to be awake." What might that even mean to be awake, right now?
From there, we pick up where we left off from last week's episode - following the thread of the astrological Sun. We spend a little time with Hades/Pluto and the Moon, as we re-inhabit the heart of care and compassion in a time where perhaps we all need it the most.
