We praise God simply because of who He is. But often times, we as humans ask "What's in it for me?" Can we praise God with the expectation that we will get something in return? If that's our chief goal, than no. However, the reality is that God does want to give us access to some pretty amazing things. When we praise Him, we get so much in return!

We are to praise the Lord, not because of what we get from Him, but for who He is. He is worthy of our praise. He is worthy of our worship. He is Almighty God. He is praiseworthy. Pastor Cam walks us through Psalm 48 to better understand who deserves our praise and why.

As husbands submit to Christ, wives submit to their husbands, so children submit to their parents. Learning to live in obedience to mom and dad helps children understand what it is to live in obedience to Christ as adults. We as parents have the great responsibility to teach them God's Word as we model Christlikeness in our home. Children are a heritage from the Lord. May we treat them as such.

The role of husband in marriage is a tremendous responsibility. It carries a weight that goes beyond our capability. But God chose you and therefore grants you the grace to do what He calls you to do as a husband, father, leader. Outside of following Jesus, learning from Him, and applying scripture to the role as husband, you will not be able to biblically love your wife as Christ loves us. Abide in His love so your marriage can be a representation of the gospel.

The role of a wife in marriage is defined by many things in scripture. But we focus on one term that comes to the forefront: Submission. It's a difficult word for us in western culture. Unfortunately the term has been misunderstood due to a lack of biblical understanding. A submissive wife is one that loves and respects her husband as they pursue the mission God has ordained for their lives both in and out of the church.

In order to properly understand our roles in marriage, family, and other relationships, we must understand who we are in Christ! The Apostle Paul lays out multiple key words and phrases that we are to pursue and practice daily in our pursuit of holiness. When we then talk about the specifics of marriage and family, we carry these things over in pursuit of establishing and maintaining a household that honors the Lord in every respect.
