  • The Still, Small Voice of the Holy Spirit (and Linen!) -- WLAH Episode 23 with Denise Narmore

My guest this week is Denise Narmore of Northern California. Denise told me her coming-to-Torah story, but most of our conversation was actually about other things; first, her recent divorce, and second, our shared love of all things LINEN and how the making of linen mirrors our Christian walk. We also talk about some of the weird projects we get into sometimes, and LISTENING to the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit.  And check out the bonus clips later this week for my views on prophecy and a short discussion of undergarments.

  • Unforeseen BONUS clips -- WLAH Episode 22

The purpose of this podcast is to tell the stories of those followers of the Messiah who have discovered the truth and applicability of the whole word of God. We have come to understand that Jesus — also known by His Hebrew name, Yeshua — was not kidding when He said in Matthew 5 that He did NOT come to do away with the Law of God, or the Torah. We have come to know exactly what the Apostle Paul was really talking about when he wrote that believers are “no longer under the Law”, which was NOT that we are no longer bound by God’s Law, but that the believers of his time were no longer bound by the excessive, Gentile-hating law of the infamous Rabbi Shammai, which was known as the 18 measures. We have come to know and appreciate the instructions that were given straight from the mouth of God to the ears of His people through Moses, which according to Deuteronomy 30:11 are NOT too difficult for us or beyond our reach, and which are actually written on our hearts in the New Covenant, according to Jeremiah 31. Therefore, believers from this walk of faith -- known sometimes as Messianic, Torah-observant, Torah-Pursuant, or Hebrew Roots -- live our lives according to the ways of our Creator. We follow HIS calendar and keep HIS appointed times, including the Biblical Feasts like Passover and Yom Kippur, and the seventh-day Sabbath. We keep the dietary laws, avoiding unclean things as we are instructed to do by Paul in 2 Corinthians 6. We do our best to steer clear of the doctrines and traditions of men.

This is episode 22. This week, due to unforeseen things like wildfire evacuations and hurricanes, travel and other messy life stuff, I was forced to reschedule my guests and do something different. So I’ve assembled a short little montage of clips taken from the two previous season 2 interviews with Mark & Cheri Olson and David and Krista Hooven.

This is episode 21, an interview with David and Krista Hooven of Northern Arkansas. We had some technical difficulties and had to record our interview on a less-than-optimal platform, so please bear with the poor audio quality.

I talk with the Hoovens about their marriage story, the problems they had with the Adventist church, how they discovered God’s Name and how their faith journey parallels the story of the Hebrew people’s escape from Egypt.

  • Aren't WE Also Children of God? WLAH Episode 20--Mark & Cheri Olson

This is episode 20, an interview with Mark and Cheri Olson of Northern California. Cheri was the sister who introduced me to the concept of keeping the Sabbath according to what was actually written in the Scriptures, and she and Mark have become some of our very closest friends. I cannot express how much I love and value these people. Mark and Cheri are funny and can be rather irreverent, and our conversation was full of hilarity and hope. We talked about the Pesach messages only Christians would know about, who exactly the Biblical feasts were for, and Mark might drop a bomb about Jesus somewhere in there, as he wonders some deep things about the Sabbath.

**Cheri Olson left this world to be with YHVH and Yeshua on Jan 1, 2021. She is missed beyond belief by those she left behind. May her memory always be a blessing.

This is episode 19, an interview with Danny and Kathy Ehinger (rhymes with "finger") of the Central Coast of California. I sat down with the Ehingers outdoors at the end of the Feast of Shavuot  at Safe Haven Sustainable Farm in Orosi, CA, and not only was it pretty windy, it was also tear-down day, so please disregard the noisy background. We talked about how they came out of the Lutheran church, homeschooling, and the difficulties of forming a community in a world that doesn’t share your beliefs.
