This is an interview with Mark and Lorrie Bell, a retired federal attorney and retired psychiatric nurse. I sat down with the Bells outdoors at the Feast of Shavuot celebration at Safe Haven Sustainable Farm in Orosi, CA, so you’ll hear all kinds of stuff going on in the background.
Mark came out of the Mormon Church, where he was a high priest and father of 11 children. Lorrie was part of the Latter Rain movement and Branhamism. We talk about the Hebraic perspective vs the Greek perspective, watching Scripture work in real time, how this faith walk changed their marriage as well as their lives, and more.
Among Mark and Lorrie’s favorite teachers are:
Rico Cortes of Wisdom In Torah
Brad Scott of The Wildbranch Ministry
Rabbi Yehezqel Italki of Melech Israel or Ahavat Ammi
Steve Berkson of Messianic Torah Observant Israel
Bonus clips taken from interviews are also available on the podcast feed at walklikeahebrew.buzzsprout.com. These clips don’t have an introduction, so remember to listen to the interviews first so you’ll know what’s going on!

Lisa talks about how God spared the Silvas from responding inappropriately to a sermon, and how a church member responded after said sermon.

Apparently their controversial views on the Biblical Feasts and the book of Colossians put El & Lisa squarely in the sights of the denominational bigwigs. This led to a good deal of drama.

The Silvas and I discussed the traditional American Church holidays, and what exactly they lack. Pretty sure Norman Rockwell is mentioned...

Elwood (El) and Lisa Silva have a wonderfully dramatic story to tell about their adventuresome discovery of the Biblical Feasts and their exit from the Seventh Day Adventist denomination. Some parts of their story that didn't make it into this episode will be available as bonus clips, but please don't miss them! El and Lisa talk about how they made their rather conspicuous entrance into the SDA church, how they discovered the Biblical Feasts should still be celebrated, and how the church worked to change their minds.

So much great stuff from my conversation with Dawn and April, I just couldn't resist another bonus clip. We had a lively discussion on the Narrow Way and what exactly is it that makes us "set apart"; also what we would change about this walk.

In my conversation with Dawn and April, I talked a bit about how I reacted when presented with the Sabbath, and the discussion got really funny.

Ok, this was funny, and I laughed WAY too much. It's obnoxious but I can't change it now. :) Dawn talks about her favorite parsha...Metzorah, the leper.
