  • 21.07.26 The Ultimate Test – Genesis 22:6-18
As you look ahead into this week, I wonder what the biggest issues are that you are anticipating? A major medical issue; a huge decision that may have widespread implications; a financial crisis; a family challenge; a deadline that is finally right ahead of you; a spiritual issue that has come to a head? Whatever it is ahead of you, I doubt it is as significant as what Abraham faced as he walked with his son Isaac toward mount Moriah.  We’re in Genesis 22 and yesterday we began this journey toward Moriah with Abraham. God had blessed he and Sarah, with a miracle son, Isaac, in their old age, as promised. But now, unexpectedly, God had instructed Abraham to take his son on a three day journey to Moriah and sacrifice him as a burnt offering! It was a preposterous thought. • 21.07.24 A God Test – Genesis 22:1-5
When you hear the word “TEST”, what comes to your mind? What emotions well up in your soul? A medical test showing evidence of a serious illness / a test seeking a license / a test requiring a high grade to pass along to the next level of your development …so many different types of tests. But have you ever felt God was testing you? We’re traveling with Abraham and Genesis 22:1 says “Some time later God tested Abraham.” We don’t know exactly how much time ‘some time later’ represents, but we presume about 10 years or so.(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/weekend-edition-24-25-july-2021-a-god-test/    Today’s Scripture is Genesis 22:1-5. Choose below to read or listen.Pastor Doug Anderson    262.441.8785  “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:1,2)Have a comment or question about today’s chapter? I’m ready to hear from you, contact me here.

  • 21.07.23 Promises Kept – Genesis 21:1-21
When you make a promise to someone, can they be confident you’ll keep your word and fulfill your promise? Have you experienced the pain of broken or forgotten promises? We’re traveling with Abraham these days and both he and Sarah have waited a very long time for God to keep His promise to them. How do you handle it when long suffering and patience is needed when promises are made but not quickly met? Are you waiting on God for something you feel God has promised you?(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/friday-23-july-promises-kept-genesis-211-21/       Today’s Scripture is Genesis 21:1-21.

  • 21.07.22 Sodom and Gomorrah – Genesis 19: 15-29
Are you old enough to remember when the atomic bomb was first dropped or have you seen the pictures of what Hiroshima and Nagasaki looked like after the bomb obliterated those cities?   Do you recall the pictures of Banda Aceh, Indonesia after the Tsunami wave of Christmas Eve 2004? Widespread devastation is not unknown to humanity and our planet. But what is it like when God pours out His great judgment upon profound wickedness? Join me today in Genesis 19 as Sodom and Gomorrah experience their doomsday judgement.  Yesterday we saw that God had sent two angels to investigate these two cities for the purpose of discerning if “what they have done is as bad as the outcry that has reached God in heaven.” (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/thursday-22-july-2021-sodom-gomorrah-genesis-1915-29/   Today’s Scripture is Genesis 19:15-29.

  • 21.07.21 Are There Ten – Genesis 19
In some parts of the world human slavery is still happening even in 2021. Have you ever imagined standing on the auction block watching people bid for your purchase, even if it was only a temporary ownership for a short while? Or what would it be like to be living in bondage and seeing an auction to purchase your freedom!? If you are living free, what is the value of your freedom today? Yesterday in our “Walking with Jesus” reflections, we witnessed Abraham actually engaged with a similar negotiation! ‘The LORD’  had come to earth from heaven, in response to the frequent outcries which had come to heaven from Sodom & Gomorrah.(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/wednesday-21-july-2021-are-there-ten/ Today’s Scripture is Genesis 18:22-33 and  Genesis 19:1-13. Choose below to read or listen. Genesis 18:22-33Genesis 19:1-13Pastor Doug Anderson    262.441.8785  “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:1,2)Have a comment or question about today’s chapter? I’m ready to hear from you, contact me here.

  • 21.07.20 Negotiation with God – Genesis 18:14-25
Have you ever wanted something so desperately you actually ‘negotiated’ with God? Perhaps you made promises of things you’d do if God would do certain things for you? Today, let’s look at one of the most remarkable negotiations with God that ever happened. You’ll find it in Genesis chapter 18 in the Bible. Yesterday we watched Abraham generously receive three men who were walking by his tent in the heat of the day. He’d never seen them before, but he invited them in, out of the sun, provided water to wash their hands and feet, and even had a delicious meal prepared for them. As they talked together one of those visitors shocked Abraham and Sarah by promising they would be pregnant and have a son by this time the following year. As preposterous as that seemed, since Abraham was almost 99 years old, and Sarah almost 89, and Sarah had been barren all her life, that ‘visitor’ then challenged their faith with this question “Is anything too hard for the LORD?” (Gen. 18:14)(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/tuesday-20-july-2021-negotiation-with-god/    Today’s Scripture is Genesis 18:14-25.

  • 21.07.19 Three Visitors – Genesis 18:1-5
When was the last time unexpected guests showed up at your door and how did you respond? Hospitality is a dying gift in many parts of our fast paced world, isn’t it, especially hospitality of people you don’t know well or maybe not even at all!  In our journey with Abraham and Sarah, this is exactly what they faced one day… unexpected guests! Join me in Genesis 18. “While Abraham was sitting at the entrance to his tent, in the heat of the day, he looked up and saw three men standing nearby. He hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground….’do not pass by, let a little water be brought, and then you may wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then be on your way…” (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/monday-19-july-2021-three-visitors-genesis-181-15/   Today’s Scripture is Genesis 18:1-15.
