  • 21.07.06 Haran – Genesis 11:27-32
I wonder what the attitudes are in your part of the world toward “old people”? As you know, in some societies the elderly are treasured, highly respected as wise people with much benefit to their family and society, and tenderly cared for until they die. In some parts of the world ancestor worship is very significant. Sadly, in some other parts of the world, once their ‘productive’ years are concluded the elderly are simply cast aside as no longer valuable. My father is 94 years old now, clear in his thinking and amazingly strong physically. He is nearly blind now …(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/tuesday-06-july-2021-haran-genesis-1127-32/    Today’s Scripture is Genesis 11:27-32. Choose below to read or listen.Pastor Doug Anderson    262.441.8785  “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:1,2)Have a comment or question about today’s chapter? I’m ready to hear from you, contact me here.

  • 21.07.05 Babel – Genesis 11:1-9
When was the last time you sat around a campfire, on a summer night, looking up at the star-filled sky, reflecting on the story of your life and your family heritage? What great events have happened in the past which have defined who you are today? And may I ask… how do you see God, the creator of the universe, involved in your story? Would you consider God is actually the author of your story, for He created you and He gives you every day you live, every breath you breathe! How are you and God working together to write a remarkable, unique story of the human experience, which can be passed on to your friends and descendants?(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/monday-05-july-2021-babel-genesis-111-9/   Today’s Scripture is Genesis 11:1-9.

  • 21.07.02 Guarantees – James 5:14-17
Do you like “warranties” or “guarantees” especially when you purchase new things or sign contracts? We are in the thick of wedding season in much of the world, and you may know sometimes there are ‘prenuptial agreements’ signed by the bride and groom BEFORE they are pronounced husband and wife! Those agreements are normally financial in detail, providing safeguards against husband or wife suing the other for large financial gain in the event they do not keep their covenant marriage vows and decide to divorce and walk away from each other. May I ask, do you sometimes want God to issue you a ‘warranty’ or ‘guarantee’ BEFORE you take a step of faith with God?  (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/friday-02-july-2021-guarantees-james-514-17/  Today’s Scripture is James 5:14-17.

  • 21.07.01 Prayer Power – James 5:13,14
We’ve been walking a journey lately with James, the 1/2 brother of Jesus as we’ve worked through the little letter he wrote a few years after Jesus returned to heaven. Today let’s consider this powerful phrase James writes: “Is any one of you in trouble? You should pray. Is anyone happy? Then sing songs of praise to God! Is any one of you sick? You should call the elders of the church to pray over you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.” (James 5: 13-15)(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/thursday-01-july-2021-prayer-power-james-513-14/    Today’s Scripture is James 5:13, 14. Choose below to read or listen. Pastor Doug Anderson    262.441.8785  “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, with our eyes fixed on Jesus…” (Heb. 12:1,2)Have a comment or question about today’s chapter? I’m ready to hear from you, contact me here.

  • 21.06.30 Patience – James 5:7, 8
In our very fast paced world, I wonder how your patience is doing this summer? How is your patience with the government of your country, patience with your family, patience with technology, patience with your church…patience with yourself, and finally patience with God?  In our journey with James, we’ve come to these words today: “Be patient, then friends, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop and how patient he is for the autumn and spring rains. You also, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near…” (James 5:7,8)(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/wednesday-30-june-2021-patience-james-578/     Today’s Scripture is James 5:7, 8.

  • 21.06.29 God’s Perspective – James 5:1-6
I wonder what the socio-economic spread looks like in the city where you live…wherever you live in our big world? How do the really wealthy folks live in your city, and how big is the homeless population in your city? Is there what some might call a ‘slum section’ of your city and are there gated mansions with long driveways, high walls and security systems, in your city? The truth is, my friends, from the earliest records of ancient civilizations we have always had the very wealthy and the very poor, and everyone in between, living among us.  You perhaps know the Bible speaks often to this economic disparity.(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/tuesday-29-june-2021-gods-perspective-james-51-6/     Today’s Scripture is James 5:1-6.

  • 21.06.28 Wise Living – James 4:13-17
I wonder how full your calendar is for this week and then all of July? In many parts of the world this is now the heart of summer, ‘vacation’ time. Many people have been in ‘lockdown’ due to COVID for so long, I wonder if we’ll see these next weeks filled with even more activity than normal? Prior to COVID most people couldn’t imagine what life would be like if suddenly much of their life activity was cancelled, closed down! But now…(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/monday-28-june-2021-wise-living-james-413-17/      Today’s Scripture is James 4:13-17.

  • 21.06.26 Spiritual Splatters – James 4:6-10
When either a water balloon or paintball pellet hit something hard, they ‘splatter’! I guess the same thing happens when an infant pushes their glass of milk off their highchair and it hits the concrete floor! That’s a strange word… ‘SPLATTER’, isn’t it? This morning as I am reading James 4:6-10 in my Bible I’m getting the feeling of rapid fire “spiritual splatters’! Is it fair to say that sometimes, when God speaks, He wants His word to “splatter” in our minds and hearts, so that His truth affects how we live, and touches every person that our lives touch? Would you join me today, once again, in James’ little letter in the New Testament?(Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/weekend-edition-26-27-june-2021-spiritual-splatters-james-46-10/      Today’s Scripture is James 4:6-10.

  • 21.06.25 PEACE – James 3:18-4:5
PEACE is the cry of every family, every community, every nation in the world isn’t it? Since we all want it, why is it so difficult to live in PEACE with each other, with ourselves, with our past, even with God? Remember what the angels said as they announced the birth of Jesus “Glory to God in the highest and PEACE on earth to men on whom His favor rests.” (Luke 2:14) We sing about it at Christmas time, but have you ever thought about how profound that statement is and how it contains the secret to living immersed in PEACE? It’s really fairly simple… When you and I live our lives for the glory and honor of Holy, Almighty God, we will automatically live in peace with God and with each other. . . UNLESS we are opposed by those who reject God, reject God’s truths, reject God’s ways, and reject our efforts to live for the glory and honor of God.  (Click here to see full text, images and links)Or  copy and go to this link: https://walkingwithjesus.ddawj-365.com/friday-25-june-2021-peace-james-318-45/      Today’s Scripture is James 3:18-4:5.
