Our podcast guest this week is New York Times bestselling biographer Walter Stahr on his new book on Salmon Chase.  Chase is often remembered as Lincoln’s rival for the Republican party nomination in 1860 – but he was much more.  He was one of the key leaders of the anti-slavery movement, helped found the Republican Party, served as senator and governor of Ohio, and became a Supreme Court justice.  Stahr, in his biography, gives a fresh take on one of the most interesting and influential men of his time.
